Here are Thursday's practice notes:

*All-time Giants great Michael Strahan was on the sideline watching practice. Strahan spent time talking with Head Coach Brian Daboll, GM Joe Schoen and former teammate Jessie Armstead, who now serves as Special Assistant to the GM. Strahan and Armstead were both drafted by the Giants in the 1993 NFL Draft and went on to spend the next nine seasons together.

*Former offensive lineman Kevin Boothe was also present for practice and spent a good amount of time talking with Schoen. Boothe was a part of both the 2007 and 2011 Super Bowl teams, and started all four playoff games during the Giants' run to winning Super Bowl XLVI.

*Prior to practice, Coach Daboll was asked about two of the team's promising young players who were sporting red jerseys, Andrew Thomas and Kayvon Thibodeaux. "Look, the guys are still in red jerseys. They're rehabbing. When they're ready to go, they'll be ready to go." When asked whether or not Thibdoeaux would be ready for next week's minicamp, Daboll said the team is taking it day by day. "I'm not expecting him to be out of a red jersey today. We'll just start with today. We'll see next week how it goes. There's a lot of things that can happen over the weekend."

*Team drills looked a little different, as the offense and defense took the field to simulate real drives in what they call "move the ball" periods. Things got started with David Sills catching a pass from Daniel Jones for a first down. Jones then scrambled towards the sideline before hitting Daniel Bellinger for a solid gain.

*Jones and Saquon Barkley went on to connect on three passes to move the ball down the field. Jones and Sills linked up again later in the drive when Jones placed a ball perfectly between two defenders, hitting Sills inside the 10.

*The offense got the ball down to the 1-yard line, and on 4th and goal, Jones found Sills yet again in the back of the end zone for what looked like a touchdown, although Sills might have stepped out of bounds before the catch.

*On another series later in the period, the offense started the drive backed up on their own goal line when linebacker Niko Lalos had the play of the day. Lalos tipped a pass to himself at the line of scrimmage, catching it in the end zone for a touchdown.

*Adoree' Jackson had a near pick-six during team drills when he read the route perfectly, stepped in front of a pass and almost came away with an interception.

*During a two-minute drill later in practice, Jones hit Barkley near the sideline for a gain of 10+ yards. Later in the drive when facing a 4th down, Jones threw an impressive pass to Richie James near the pylon for a touchdown.

*At one point during practice, Quincy Roche made a nice play to jump in front of a pass and force an incompletion, almost coming down with the interception.

*Zyon Gilbert made a great play on a deep pass late in practice, getting his hands on the ball and knocking it away for an incompletion.

*Practice ended with the first-team offense taking the field for a 1st and goal situation. It only took one play for Jones to find Bellinger over the middle for the score.
