Inactives: Who's in, who's out for Giants vs. Eagles

INACTIVES

Daniel Jones' season officially ended Monday when the Giants placed the third-year quarterback on injured reserve. Jones has missed the last three games with a neck injury he suffered in a victory against Philadelphia on Nov. 28.

Wide receiver Sterling Shepard, who tore his Achilles tendon in the fourth quarter of last week's loss to Dallas, was also placed on injured reserve.

"Over the course of the past few weeks, Daniel has been examined by Dr. Frank Cammisa of Hospital for Special Surgery and Dr. Robert Watkins of the Marina Spine Center at Marina Del Rey Hospital," said Ronnie Barnes, the Giants' senior vice president of medical services. "Our medical team has continued to consult with Dr. Cammisa and Dr. Watkins regarding Daniel's condition and symptoms, and at this point, Daniel has not been cleared for contact. We felt the prudent decision was to place Daniel on injured reserve for the remainder of the season. With continued rest and treatment, we expect a full recovery."

"There have been a lot of discussions and conversations between the organization and the medical team concerning Daniel Jones and his return to play," coach Joe Judge said. "Over the last 24 hours, there has been a lot more conversation and based on the information from the medical team and their belief in a timetable for Daniels' full recovery, and their belief with rest and treatment that he'll return to full health, they deemed that the remainder of this season he should be shut down to give him that time to heal."

Judge declined to say publicly this week if Mike Glennon or Jake Fromm, the second-year pro from the University of Georgia, will start against the Eagles.

The Giants, meanwhile, declared three players out of the game due to injury on Friday’s final report: rookie running back Gary Brightwell (neck), wide receiver Collin Johnson (hamstring) and guard Ben Bredeson (ankle).

Four players were questionable, defensive lineman Austin Johnson (foot) and three players who were activated off the COVID reserve list: rookie wide receiver Kadarius Toney (who is also recovering from an oblique injury), linebacker Oshane Ximines and safety J.R. Reed.

The Giants also made a series of roster moves on Saturday. Linebacker Cam Brown and cornerback Aaron Robinson were activated from Reserve/COVID-19. Offensive tackle Nate Solder and nose tackle Danny Shelton were placed on Reserve/COVID-19. Defensive back Darqueze Dennard, defensive tackle David Moa, wide receiver David Sills, and tackle Isaiah Wilson were activated from the practice squad (COVID replacements). Linebacker Omari Cobb was terminated from the practice squad, and defensive back Natrell Jamerson was restored to the practice quad from the COVID-19 list.
