Top Five Unexpected Moments of 2014

1. ELI MANNING'S RUSHING TOUCHDOWN

Giants quarterback Eli Manning threw four touchdown passes against Washington, plus he scored a fifth touchdown with his feet.

Manning's one-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter was the fifth score of his career and first since Sept. 11, 2011, also in FedEx Field. Each of Manning's last three touchdowns has been against Washington in September games.

2. MARKUS KUHN'S FUMBLE RECOVERY TOUCHDOWN

Titans QB Zach Mettenberger was sacked by LB Devon Kennard, and the ball was recovered by DT Markus Kuhn for a touchdown.

Kuhn scored the first touchdown by a Giants defensive lineman since Jason Pierre-Paul reached the end zone on a 24-yard interception return vs. Green Bay on Nov. 17, 2013. It was the first fumble recovery scored by a Giants defensive lineman since Sept. 13, 2009, when Osi Umenyiora had a 37-yarder vs. Washington

3. ONSIDE KICK VS. 49ERS

The Giants recovered an onside kick in the third quarter against the 49ers, their first successful onside kick since Nov. 7, 2004 vs. Chicago.

San Francisco coach Jim Harbaugh challenged the Giants' recovery of Josh Brown's onside kick, but referee Gene Steratore confirmed the ruling.

4. KERRY WYNN'S INTERCEPTION

St. Louis Rams quarterback Shaun Hill had his pass batted in the air and intercepted by New York Giants defensive end Kerry Wynn.

It was the first interception by a Giants rookie since cornerback Jayron Hosley picked off Cam Newton at Carolina on Sept. 20, 2012 and the first by a Giants defensive lineman since Justin Tuck intercepted Matthew Stafford at Detroit on Dec. 22, 2013.

5. JAMEEL MCCLAIN: "I'M NOT THE MIKE"

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo called out New York Giants linebacker Jameel McClain as the Mike linebacker and he responded back with a resounding no.

During the game, Jon Beason left the game in the second quarter with a toe injury. Jameel McClain did play middle linebacker and rookie Devon Kennard saw extensive action on the strong side.
