Giants Now: PFF tabs Wan'Dale Robinson as 2024 breakout candidate

PFF tabs Wan'Dale Robinson as 2024 breakout candidate

The 2023 season may have just ended, but it is never too early to start looking towards 2024.

Pro Football Focus recently chose one player from every team as an early 2024 breakout candidate, where wide receiver Wan'Dale Robinson was the selection for the Giants.

"After tearing his ACL in his rookie season, Robinson returned as a more stable part of the Giants offense in 2023," wrote PFF's Jonathon Macri. "His 76 targets tied for the team lead with Darius Slayton despite appearing in two fewer games, and he finished with the fourth-highest catch rate (78.9%) among the league's wide receivers (min. 20% of targets). The Giants currently have five pending free agents at the position heading into the 2024 offseason, which could allow Robinson to contribute even further in Year 3."

After missing the first two outings as he finished his recovery from last year's torn ACL, Robinson played the final 15 games of the season.

The second-year wideout led the team with 60 receptions, while his 525 receiving yards ranked second. Of those 60 receptions, 29 resulted in a first down, which was tied with Slayton for the most through the air on the team.

The 5-foot-8 receiver added some production as a runner, as well. Robinson took nine rush attempts for 87 yards, an average of 9.7 yards per carry, and scored a touchdown on the ground.

The 23-year-old seemed to really get going in the second half of the season. Robinson finished with at least five receptions in three of the team's last five games, in addition to topping 75 yards from scrimmage in the same three contests.

He finished with a career-best 115 total yards from scrimmage in the Week 14 game against the Packers as he caught six of seven targets for 79 yards and added another 36 yards on two carries.
