After the Dallas Cowboys (6-3) lost on Sunday, the New York Giants failed to gain any ground in the NFC East race with a 40-24 loss to the Indianapolis Colts on Monday night, as they dropped their third straight game to fall to 3-5 on the season.

Meanwhile, the Philadelphia Eagles improved to 6-2 last weekend with a victory over the Houston Texans. Now the Giants travel to face the Seattle Seahawks this week before returning for back-to-back home games against San Francisco and Dallas.

With Week 9 officially in the books, Giants.com takes a look at power rankings coming in from outlets across the country:

"In a season that has seen almost every NFC East team lose its starting quarterback for a period of time, it's ironic that the only club that's had its top dog all year has struggled so much. Of course, considering the Giants have committed at least one turnover in 24 straight games, maybe it's not that surprising."*-- Elliot Harrison NFC East:* No. 4 Eagles, No. 7 Cowboys, No. 22 Giants, No. 26 Redskins *NFL Top 5: *Patriots, Cardinals, Broncos, Eagles, Steelers
