Bucky Brooks' non-first-round impact rookies

NFL.com's Bucky Brooks recently published his list of 10 non-first-round picks "who showed they can make an impact as rookies" this season.

Many of the players featured on Brooks' list are notable names from across the NFL. Two undrafted rookies made the list, including Giants wide receiver Beaux Collins.

"To make a team as an undrafted prospect, a player must exhibit elite traits in practices and games," Brooks wrote. "Collins might have a paltry stat line (one catch, though it went for 80 yards), but the 6-3, 206-pounder's spectacular play throughout offseason workouts and training camp has suggested he could develop into a key contributor down the road. As a big-bodied pass catcher with natural playmaking ability, the ex-Clemson and Notre Dame standout possesses the size and strength to carve out a spot as a special teams player until he earns a role as a WR3/WR4."

Collins was on the receiving end of the one Russell Wilson moonball we saw during the preseason.

In the second preseason outing against the Jets, Wilson unleashed a deep pass 54 yards in the air, which Collins brought in and took an additional 26 yards all the way down to the one-yard line. This set up a Devin Singletary one-yard touchdown run.

In addition to his strong play on offense throughout training camp, Collins also drew praise for his contributions on special teams during the preseason.

Collins began his collegiate career at Clemson, where he caught 91 passes for 1,290 yards and 11 touchdowns across three seasons. He then transferred to Notre Dame for his senior year and caught a career-high 41 passes, which he took for 490 yards and three touchdowns. The 6-foot-3, 206-pound wideout had three or more touchdowns in all four of his collegiate seasons.
