5 things to know about UCLA CB Darnay Holmes

With the 110th pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the New York Giants selected 5-foot-10, 195-pound cornerback Darnay Holmes out of UCLA. Here are five things to know about the new member of Big Blue:

1. UCLA CAREER OVERVIEW

A three-year starter, Holmes played in 35 career games with 33 starts for the Bruins He recorded 111 tackles, two forced fumbles, 28 pass breakups and eight interceptions, two of which he returned for touchdowns. He was a two-time All-Pack 12 honorable mention selection in his last two seasons.

Along with defensive lineman Jaelan Phillips, he became part of the first pair of true freshmen defenders to start a season opener in UCLA history in 2017. Holmes returned 38 kickoffs in his college career for a average of 23.1 yards, including a 93-yard touchdown vs. Stanford in 2018.
