Eisen's Mailbag: Assessing the O-Line

**

Fixing the O-line has obviously been a focal point of this offseason. But I haven't heard any updates recently about Will Beatty's condition. If he is not ready to start at LT, then we are going to have problems mixing and matching to make up for his absence. Agreed? What is plan B ? ** -Marc

Dear Marc:
I don't necessarily agree, no. First, Beatty continues to make progress after breaking his leg against Washington in the 2013 season finale. He won't participate in spring drills, but Tom Coughlin anticipates he will be ready for training camp in July. If he's not, the Giants have a few options. The top one right now is probably playing Charles Brown, who started 14 games last season for New Orleans.

I noticed that John Jerry's name was not listed in either the first or second team offensive lines during the initial OTAs. So, I'm wondering if he's been cleared to practice with the team by the NFL office.
-Dennis

Dear Dennis:
Jerry's absence has nothing to do with the NFL. He had arthroscopic surgery on his knee earlier this week and is here rehabbing. Jerry won't be on the field during the spring drills/minicamp, but should be ready for training camp.
