Monday, October 19

5:32 p.m. -- Texans coach DeMeco Ryans confirmed WR Tank Dell will make his return on Sunday against the Giants. Dell, who has 10 touchdowns in 25 career games, has not played since Dec. 21, 2024 due to a serious knee injury.

"I expect Tank just to be himself and just play the offense the right way. No huge expectations from what he needs to do," Ryans said. "I know me personally, I'm just going to be excited to see him just out there for the first time in over two years, just getting some game action. I'm just thankful, grateful for him to have this opportunity to return."

3:30 p.m. -- John Harbaugh held his Monday press conference and the first question naturally was about who will start at quarterback for the Giants in Week 7 at Houston. "We're working through that now, honing in on a decision," the head coach said.

Since 1950, last Sunday was the only time the Giants had two players throw for at least 150 yards in the same game. Trailing 34-10 at the time, J.J. McCarthy replaced Jameis Winston with 11:25 left in the game and threw for 243 yards, tied for the most by a Giant in a single quarter since at least 1991. Eli Manning also had 243 yards in the fourth quarter of 2012 game against Tampa Bay.

"Jameis has done a great job in so many ways, and I just admire him and respect him for it," Harbaugh said. "He's helped us win games and did what he had to do to win games and that's something you value very much. And J.J. just got here a couple weeks ago and where do we stand? We're trying to put an offense together that he's got a feel for and those kinds of things. So, all those things are things you factor in."

10:32 a.m. -- WR Malik Nabers was nominated for FedEx Air & Ground NFL Player of the Week following his 12-catch, 165-yard performance on Sunday against the Saints.

Nabers now has 168 career receptions and surpassed Puka Nacua (159) for the second-most catches by a player in his first 25 career games in NFL history, trailing only Odell Beckham Jr. (176).

Nabers is also the third player ever with at least 10 receptions in five of his first 25 career games, joining Brock Bowers and Lionel Taylor.

Nabers' 12 catches matched a career high, which he set in Week 4 of his rookie 2024 season against the Cowboys. Nabers went on to break the single-season franchise record with 109 receptions.

His 165 receiving yards, meanwhile, were six shy of his career-high 171 that he posted in the 2024 season finale.

Nabers has 29 catches for 398 yards and two touchdowns over his last three games. The former sixth overall draft pick eclipsed 100 yards in each of them.

Before Sunday, there had been only six instances of a Giant recording at least three consecutive games of 100+ receiving yards in the same season. Now there are seven.

  • Odell Beckham Jr.: 6 (2015)
  • Odell Beckham Jr.: 4 (2014)
  • Malik Nabers: 3 (2026)
  • Victor Cruz: 3 (2011)
  • Mario Manningham: 3 (2010)
  • Homer Jones: 3 (1968)
  • Del Shofner: 3 (1963)

FINAL-SCORE-SAINTS

4:27 p.m. -- The Giants jumped out to a double-digit lead but proceeded to allow 34 unanswered points in a 34-27 loss to the Saints. Even though they committed four turnovers, the Giants didn't go down without a fight, and managed to make things interesting once again.

Fresh off a tie and two last-second victories in their previous three outings, the Giants stormed back with 17 unanswered points of their own in the final 11 minutes with J.J. McCarthy in for Jameis Winston at quarterback.

The defense, meanwhile, forced a turnover and three more punts as the offense had one final chance on fourth-and-one at the Saints 14 with 12 seconds left. But McCarthy's pass intended for TE Isaiah Likely fell incomplete in the back of the end zone. Tyler Shough took over for New Orleans and kneeled down for the victory.

The Giants fell to 3-2-1 on the season, while the Saints broke a three-game losing streak and improved to 2-4.

CJ-STROUD-TREVOR-LAWRENCE

12:49 p.m. ET (5:49 p.m. BST) -- Ka'imi Fairbairn kicked a 49-yard field goal as time expired, giving the Texans a 34-31 victory over the Jaguars at Wembley Stadium in London.

C.J. Stroud is second in the NFL in passing yards (1,714) through six weeks, trailing only Matthew Stafford (1,794), whom the Giants faced in Week 2. WR Marvin Harrison Jr. had three catches (all for first downs) for 34 yards in his Texans debut after being traded from the Cardinals. His most recent game had been at MetLife Stadium against the Giants, who will see him again this Sunday in a different uniform.

Following four consecutive losses to start the season, the Texans have won back-to-back games heading into Sunday. Like the Giants, they will also go on their bye the following week.
