East Rutherford, NJ – The New York Giants have selected Coach Thomas Tetreault of Beekmantown High School in West Chazy, NY as the High School Girls Flag Football Coach of the Week for week 6 of the 2026 season.
The High School Girls Flag Football Coach of the Week Award is part of the Giants' continuing effort to support local high school flag football programs. Each week during the high school girls flag football season, the Giants will select one area high school head coach as the Coach of the Week winner. The selection is based on the coach's continuing commitment towards promoting youth football, developing motivated student-athletes and contributing overall to their community.
In recognition of Coach Tetreault's selection as Coach of the Week, a $2,000 check from The Giants Foundation will be given to the Beekmantown High School girls flag football program. Coach Tetreault will also receive a certificate of recognition signed by Giants Head Coach John Harbaugh and will be honored at a 2026 Giants preseason home game.
Tetreault and his staff have established Beekmantown High School as one of the teams to beat in both Section VII and New York State since the program was created back in 2023. In only their second season, the Eagles completed an undefeated regular season, captured a sectional championship, and became the first Section VII team to reach the Class C New York State Public High School Athletic Association Final Four in the state tournament.
Despite the team's small roster, Tetreault and his staff maximize the talent of their student-athletes through hard work and dedication. Their approach is simple – educate the athletes on the fundamentals of football while instilling trust among teammates and enjoying the process. The impact of that approach is clear. After a strong 2025 campaign, the Eagles have carried that momentum into this season with a 6–2 record, outscoring opponents 286–67. Beyond developing players, Coach Tetreault and his staff foster an environment of learning, building confidence and teamwork. His passion transcends on-field competition—he is deeply invested in the growth of the entire Section, always looking for aways to support fellow coaches and ensure the athletes have every opportunity to succeed.
"Coach Thomas Tetreault is extremely deserving of this recognition as the New York Giants Coach of the Week. Coach Tetreault's dedication, commitment, and passion for our Girls Flag Football program have been outstanding," said Athletic Director Justin Frechette. "Since taking on this role, Coach Tetreault has gone above and beyond to build a program that our student athletes, school, and community can be proud of. His leadership has helped establish a positive team culture centered on hard work, accountability, sportsmanship, and belief in one another. He consistently supports all of our student athletes, helping them grow not only as football players, but also as strong teammates and positive representatives of Beekmantown Central School District. As Athletic Director, I am extremely appreciative of everything Coach Tetreault does on a daily basis to support our student athletes and help grow the amazing game of girls flag football. His commitment extends well beyond practices and games. He is a strong advocate for his athletes, a positive role model, and a coach who truly understands the importance of creating meaningful opportunities for students."
