East Rutherford, NJ – The New York Giants have selected Coach Randy Kalman of Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School in Rumson, NJ as the High School Flag Football Coach of the Week for week 7 of the 2025 season.
The High School Flag Football Coach of the Week Award is part of the Giants' continuing effort to support local high school flag football programs. Each week during the high school girls flag football season, the Giants will select one area high school head coach as the Coach of the Week winner. The selection is based on the coach's continuing commitment towards promoting youth football, developing motivated student-athletes and contributing overall to their community.
In recognition of Coach Kalman's selection as Coach of the Week, a $2,000 check from The Giants Foundation will be given to the Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School girls flag football program. Coach Kalman will also receive a certificate of recognition signed by Giants head coach Brian Daboll and will be honored at a recognition ceremony after the season and at a 2025 Giants preseason home game.
Kalman has served as the head coach of the Rumson Fair Haven girls flag football team since its inception in 2021. As head coach of the Bulldogs, Kalman has led the team to two consecutive Shore Conference Championships and has continued that success with a 7-0-1 start to the 2025 season. The Bulldogs were named the Central Division Shore Conference Champions and are on their way to the second round of the Shore Conference playoffs for the third year in a row. Kalman and his staff have held opponents to under 14 points the entire season while averaging over 19 points per game.
In addition to serving as the head girls flag football coach, Kalman is a science teacher at Middletown High School North where he earned the Teacher of the Year honor in 2020. He is also the running backs/special teams coach for the Rumson-Fair Haven boys high school football team. Kalman has harnessed the community around both the boys and girls football teams and uses the game of football to empower his student-athletes with confidence while teaching them the importance of working together as a team to achieve success.
"Coach Randy has done a tremendous job building this program, literally from the ground up. His dedication and passion have been the #1 reason for the success of the team, winning back-to-back Shore Conference Championships. Coach has recruited several of our Football coaches to volunteer and work with our girls, and they have made an incredible impact on the program and the development of our student-athletes. I could not think of a more worthy candidate for this honor," said Chris Lanzalotto, Athletic Director of Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School.
