The following players will be inactive for the Week 7 matchup between the Giants (3-2-1) and Texans (2-4) in Houston.

Inside linebacker Tremaine Edmunds (shoulder) was placed on injured reserve, which will lead to an increased role for Micah McFadden opposite rookie Arvell Reese.

"I think I said early on we have three starters," coach John Harbaugh said Friday before Edmunds was ruled out. "So, when and if that happens, Micah is ready. He's a starter, and he'll play really well. He'll be excited for his opportunity."

Tight end Theo Johnson (neck), who was listed as doubtful on the final injury report, was downgraded to out on Saturday and did not travel to Houston. Safety Jevón Holland (concussion), who was previously questionable, was also downgraded to out.

Cornerback Greg Newsome II will not play due to a concussion, but the Giants will get back Paulson Adebo, who was activated off injured reserve. The veteran cornerback has not played since the season opener due to a knee injury.

The Giants had three other players listed as questionable heading into Sunday: starting right tackle Jermaine Eluemunor (calf), offensive lineman Marcus Mbow (knee) and safety Tyler Nubin (neck). Eluemunor missed last week's game against the Saints and was replaced by Mbow.

Meanwhile, the Giants elevated wide receiver Jalin Hyatt and safety Raheem Layne from the practice squad for Sunday. Neither player has appeared in a game this season.

Jake Haener will serve as the emergency quarterback behind Jameis Winston and J.J. McCarthy, who will make his debut as the Giants' starter.

For Houston, wide receiver Tank Dell is set to make his return. Dell, who has 10 touchdowns in 25 career games, has not played since Dec. 21, 2024 due to a serious knee injury.

The Texans also elevated cornerback Bryce Hall and linebacker Kenneth Murray from the practice squad. Four players were ruled out on the final injury report: safeties Reed Blankenship (concussion/hand) and Jalen Pitre (shoulder), offensive tackle Blake Fisher (thumb) and running back David Montgomery (groin).
