Jaxson Dart nominated for Pepsi Rookie of the Week

JAXSON-DART-ROOKIE-OF-THE-WEEK

Jaxson Dart has been nominated for Pepsi Zero Sugar Rookie of the Week following the Giants' 34-17 victory over the Cowboys. It is the quarterback's second consecutive nomination after back-to-back wins to close the season.

In his 12th and final start as a rookie, Dart completed 22 of 32 passes for 230 yards and two touchdowns for a career-high 110.2 passer rating. He also ran five times for 32 yards.

Dart's highlight of the day was an impromptu backhand flip to tight end Daniel Bellinger, who caught it and weaved his way through defenders for a 29-yard touchdown to give the Giants a 16-10 halftime lead.

Dart ended his rookie campaign with 24 total touchdowns, including a franchise-record nine rushing scores. The No. 25 overall draft pick trails only Charlie Conerly (27 in 1948) and Daniel Jones (26 in 2019) for the most total touchdowns in Giants history by a rookie quarterback.

Dart also joined Eli Manning (2004) as the only rookie quarterbacks in franchise history to beat the Cowboys.

"I just try to give everything I have when I'm on the field," Dart said after the game. "I try to be a spark, and I definitely want people to believe because I believe. And really the biggest thing is I have the utmost confidence, regardless of who's playing. Today, offensively, it was like we went out there with our starters. We had a lot of guys down, and I just have the utmost confidence in all the guys around me to make plays, and I try to give that belief to everybody around me. I just want the guys to know regardless of the situation, I'm going to give it my all to win the game."

The Giants' top four draft picks in the 2025 class have been nominated at least once for the weekly award.

Dart (No. 25 overall pick) was also nominated after each of his first six starts, which led to him being named the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month for October. Running back Cam Skattebo (fourth round) was nominated three times before suffering a season-ending ankle injury in Week 8. Defensive tackle Darius Alexander (third round) was up for the award in Week 12, and outside linebacker Abdul Carter (No. 3 overall pick) was nominated in Week 15.

Fans can vote for Dart at nfl.com/rookies and on the NFL Mobile app through Thursday at 11 a.m. ET to determine who will bring home the Rookie of the Week championship belt for Week 18. The winner will be announced Thursday on NFL.com.

After the regular season, six players will be nominated for Pepsi Zero Sugar NFL Rookie of the Year honors.
