Michael Strahan inducted into College Football Hall of Fame

The National Football Foundation recently held its 67th annual awards dinner, where they celebrated the 2025 College Football Hall of Fame Class.

Several notable names were officially inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame at Tuesday's ceremony, including legendary Giants defensive end Michael Strahan.

Prior to joining the Giants, Strahan put together a legendary career at Texas Southern. He graduated with the school's single-season sack record (19 in 1992) along with the program's all-time sack record (41.5). Strahan earned numerous accolades, including first-team All-American, Division I-AA Defensive Player of the Year, 1992 Black College Defensive Player of the Year, two-time SWAC Defensive Player of the Year and All-SWAC member.

The Giants then drafted Strahan with the 40th overall pick in the 1993 NFL Draft. He would go on to play 15 years in the NFL, all of which was spent with the Giants. He finished just a half-sack shy of Lawrence Taylor for the unofficial franchise sack record, while his 141.5 sacks are officially the sixth-most in NFL history.

Strahan was the NFL sack leader in both 2001 and 2003, and his mark of 22.5 sacks in 2001 is currently tied with Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end T.J. Watt for the most in a season in NFL history. Strahan's performance that season led to him being named the NFL Defensive Player of the Year.

He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2014 and had his No. 92 retired by the Giants in 2021 following six All-Pro selections, seven trips to the Pro Bowl and a Super Bowl Championship (SB XLII). Additionally, he was named to the NFL 2000s All-Decade Team.

He was also inducted into the Black College Football Hall of Fame in 2014 and was named to the Senior Bowl 75th Anniversary Team in 2023.

The other 17 players in the 2025 College Football Hall of Fame Class are running back Montee Ball, linebacker Gregg Carr, wide receiver Elliott Blake, center Greg Eslinger, quarterback Terry Hanratty, quarterback Graham Harrell, defensive tackle John Henderson, defensive back Michael Huff, tight end Jim Kleinsasser, offensive lineman Alex Mack, offensive lineman Terrence Metcalf, defensive tackle Haloti Ngata, running back Steve Slaton, linebacker Darrin Smith, defensive back Dennis Thurman, quarterback Michael Vick, and wide receiver Ryan Yarborough.

The four coaches in the Class of 2025 are Larry Blakeney, Larry Kover, Urban Meyer and Nick Saban.
