Malik Nabers debuts on NFL Top 100 Players

MALIK-NABERS-TOP-100

The NFL is in its rookie receiver era. Veterans have noticed.

The league recently announced that Malik Nabers, after breaking the Giants' single-season reception record in his first year, was ranked No. 67 on "The NFL Top 100 Players of 2025" as voted on by current players.

This is the 15th year of the list, and Nabers is the team's first wide receiver to break the top 100 since Odell Beckham Jr. made four straight from 2015 to 2018.

That is just one of the many honors that the two LSU products share. Nabers was the first Giant since Beckham to record 1,000 receiving yards in a season and make the Pro Bowl as a wide receiver. Beckham broke onto the scene in 2014 with 91 catches for 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns in 12 games. Accordingly, he was ranked No. 32 on the NFL Top 100 heading into his sophomore season.

A decade later, as the team celebrated its 100th season, Nabers recorded a franchise-record 109 catches for 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns in 15 games.

Four rookies broke 1,000 receiving yards in 2024, the most in a single season in league history. It was also the first season to boast multiple rookies with at least 1,200 receiving yards, Nabers being one and Jacksonville's Brian Thomas Jr. the other. Rookie wide receivers combined for 10,914 yards, the fourth-most in a single season.

Most combined receiving yards by a rookie in a single season, according to NFL Research:

Season Rec Yds Leading Rookie (Yds)
2023 13,082 LAR Puka Nacua (1,486)
2020 12,919 MIN Justin Jefferson (1,400)

2024 10,914 JAX Brian Thomas Jr. (1,204)
2019 10,419 TEN A.J. Brown (1,051)

1,200+ receiving yards in rookie season, Super Bowl era:

Player Season Yds
LAR Puka Nacua 2023 1,486
CIN Ja’Marr Chase 2021 1,455
MIN Justin Jefferson 2020 1,400
ARI Anquan Boldin 2003 1,377

NYG Malik Nabers 2024 1,204

Nabers is the fourth different Giants wide receiver to make the NFL Top 100, which debuted in 2011. The Giants won the Super Bowl that year thanks in large part to wide receivers Victor Cruz and Hakeem Nicks, who were then ranked No. 39 and No. 90, respectively.

For 2025, the NFL is revealing two players each weekday, with 10 total players ranked per week over 10 weeks leading up to the start of the season. The top 10 will be announced on Monday, Sept. 1 at 8 p.m. ET on NFL Network.

The Giants had two players featured in 2024: defensive lineman Dexter Lawrence (No. 24) and outside linebacker Brian Burns (No. 55).
