Reports: Giants agree to terms with LB Carter Coughlin

According to reports, the Giants have agreed to terms with linebacker Carter Coughlin, pending a physical.

Coughlin was a seventh-round pick (No. 218 overall) of the Giants in 2020 and has played in 55 games with two starts across the last four seasons.

The 6-foot-3, 240-pound linebacker has career totals of 41 tackles (31 solo), one sack, two tackles for loss, two quarterback hits, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

Coughlin has primarily played on special teams since joining the Giants. He has played in over 85 percent of the team's special teams snaps over the last three seasons, with a total of 1,102 career special teams snaps.

Coughlin played four seasons at the University of Minnesota, where he appeared in 49 games with 39 starts and finished third in school history with 22.5 sacks and fourth with 40 tackles for loss. He was twice named second-team All-Big Ten (2018, 2019).
