• Started playing football in sixth grade, joining the JV team at Tafuna High School in Pago Pago, American Samoa, as a defensive lineman...His freshman year of high school, his parents sent him and his older brother, Francisco, to Aquinas Catholic High School in San Bernardino, Calif., to have a better chance at pursuing a college scholarship…Started on the defensive line and helped the team to a league title in 2019…Returned to American Samoa for his sophomore year at Tafuna High School as he and his brother were not able to return the U.S. after coming home in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic…Helped Tafuna to an undefeated season while playing mainly defensive line…Would transfer to IMG Academy for his junior and senior seasons and make the switch to offensive line.
• Grew up playing volleyball and rugby…Also lettered in volleyball at Tafuna High School, earning all-conference second-team honors.
• Parents are Fa'alialia and Telesia…Brother, Francisco "Kiko" Mauigoa, is a linebacker for the New York Jets and played with him at Miami from 2023-24…Brother, Frederick, was a center at Washington State and spent time with the Carolina Panthers and Cincinnati Bengals in the NFL…Eldest brother, Frank, played quarterback in high school before enlisting in the Army and playing football and volleyball at North Park University in Chicago.
