The Giants opened up the 2026 season with a divisional victory as they defeated the Dallas Cowboys, 28-20, at MetLife Stadium.
It was a strong performance from both sides of the ball as the offense picked up a first down on 90 percent of their third down attempts (9 of 10) prior to the final kneel and the defense held the Cowboys to under 4.0 yards per carry.

Harbaugh took the sideline for his first official game as the head coach of the New York Giants and emerged with a big, divisional victory. He brought his career record in Week 1 to 13-6.
Quarterback Jaxson Dart
Dart opened up his second NFL season with a dominant performance. He completed 23 of 29 passes (79.3 percent) for 230 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions, earning a passer rating of 134.2. Dart also added 11 carries for 54 yards (4.9 avg.), with his final three attempts coming in victory formation.
Tight End Isaiah Likely
Likely put together an impressive performance in front of the home crowd in his Giants debut. The veteran tight end led the team with eight receptions (on eight targets) for 78 yards and two touchdowns.
Running Back Cam Skattebo
In his first game back since suffering a season-ending ankle injury in Week 8 of last season, Skattebo averaged 4.5 yards per carry while finishing with a game-high 81 yards and one touchdown on 18 rush attempts.
Wide Receiver Malik Nabers
Nabers also returned to the field for the first time since suffering a season-ending knee injury in Week 4 of the 2025 season. In his first game back, the star wideout led the team with nine targets, catching six of them for 69 yards.
Safety Jevón Holland
Holland came up with a huge play right before halftime as he made a sliding grab for an interception to stop the Cowboys' drive. The Giants then turned around and got into the end zone to take a seven-point lead before the end of the second quarter.
Linebacker Arvell Reese
The No. 5 overall pick made his NFL debut on Sunday night and finished second on the team with five solo tackles while also adding one tackle for loss and one quarterback hit.
Linebacker Tremaine Edmunds
The Giants' big offseason acquisition on the defensive side of the ball finished the game with a team-high eight tackles (seven solo).
Cornerback Deonte Banks
Making the start at cornerback, Banks recorded four solo tackles and a game-high two passes defensed. He dealt with cramps during the game but was able to return.
