Think fast!  Football quiz: What gave the New York Giants extra motivation to win Super Bowl XLII and finish last season with an NFC leading 12-4 record?

If you're like us at Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey (Horizon BCBSNJ), then you believe the success was due to the players knowing that each time they scored a touchdown they were helping children and families in need. And this year, we are predicting that the New York Giants may once again make a Super Bowl run due, in some part, to the return of Horizon BCBSNJ's Touchdowns for Families program.

This year, for the first time, the Touchdowns for Families program is supporting the fight against childhood obesity by helping fund the New Jersey YMCA State Alliance "Healthy U" initiative. "Healthy U" is the largest evidence-based, after-school childhood obesity program in the nation.  Over 18,000 school children are actively taking part in "Healthy U."  For complete information on the "Healthy U" program please visit:  www.HorizonBlue.com/HealthyU.

About the Touchdowns for Families Program:
For every touchdown the New York Giants score in the 2009-2010 season, Horizon BCBSNJ will donate $250.00 to the New Jersey YMCA State Alliance.  The Alliance will use that money to expand "Healthy U."   "Healthy U" was made possible through a $1 million dollar grant from The Horizon Foundation for New Jersey.   See the above link for complete information on "Healthy U."  Also, please visit "Healthy U" on Facebook.  , search - Healthy U.

If the New York Giants make the NFL post season, Horizon BCBSNJ will increase its donation to $500.00 for each touchdown that the Giants score in each playoff game.  If the Giants make the Super Bowl, Horizon BCBSNJ will increase its donation to $1,000.00 for each touchdown the Giants score in the Super Bowl.

Through two complete seasons, the Touchdowns for Families program raised $57,500 for charity.  To follow the weekly progress of the Touchdowns for Families program visit: www.Giants.com/community.
