The Giants are still working through his timetable, so there are no roster decisions yet on him. WR Malik Nabers (back) will be limited today and "should be OK" for the game. WR Wan'Dale Robinson (ankle) will not practice today but he "should be good." DL Dexter Lawrence is also out today for the birth of his child. "Congratulations to him and his wife."
Tuesday, Sept. 9
Noon -- The Giants released their unofficial depth chart for Week 2 against the Cowboys. As always, it is subject to change. It simply serves as a guide, more so for the media than the coaches. The only change was Wan'Dale Robinson moving up to No. 2 on kickoff return behind Gunner Olszewski. New this season, the dead ball spot of a touchback if the ball lands in the end zone and is downed in the end zone by the receiving team is now the 35-yard line (was the 30 in 2024). The "dynamic kickoff" is designed to promote more returns and resemble a play from scrimmage, with players lining up closer together. Gano then took over kickoff duties. P Jamie Gillan, not K Graham Gano, handled the opening kickoff on Sunday against Washington. Gano then took over for the remaining kickoffs. Around the NFL, the kickoff return rate (75.6 percent) more than doubled Week 1 of 2024 (33.3 percent).
"I think Wan'Dale's good with the ball in his hands," Daboll said of Robinson, who accounted for the Giants' two kickoff returns for 41 yards (20.5-yard average). "We had a couple chances there if we could just sustain on a block a little bit longer. I think he's good with the ball in his hands. And then Jamie is good at some of those kicks with this new kickoff rule and where to put it. So, we've been working on that between Jamie and Graham on kickoffs, particularly for that first game."
Monday, Sept. 8
4:00 p.m. -- The Giants made a change to the practice squad Monday as they signed OT Reid Holskey and released G McClendon Curtis. Holskey originally signed with the Ravens as an undrafted free agent in April. He was released as part of Baltimore's final cuts before the season started and then joined Houston's practice squad. The Texans let Holskey go last week among a series of roster moves. The 6-foot-6, 306-pound lineman started 53 of 54 games at Miami (Ohio), where he was named first-team All-MAC and Miami's Offensive Power Player of the Year following the 2024 campaign.
1:30 p.m. -- Coach Brian Daboll said they will know more tomorrow about LB Micah McFadden, who left Sunday's season opener with a leg/foot injury. McFadden didn't break his leg, which he thought he may have done in the moment. He's getting some other things looked at, according to Daboll.
