*The Giants lost for the third time in four games and fell to 7-5. With four games remaining, they lead the NFC East by one game over 6-6 Dallas and 6-6 Washington. The Redskins won their third consecutive game, all against division foes. The Giants host New Orleans on Sunday.
*The Giants fell to 2-3 in NFC East games. They finish the season at home against Philadelphia. If they win that game, they will split the season series with all three of their division foes.
*The Giants and Redskins split their season series for the first time since 2007. It's their first split since 2005 in which the home team won both games.
*This was the Giants' first one-point loss since they were defeated by San Diego in Giants Stadium, 21-20, on Nov. 8, 2009. It was their first loss by a single point on the road since Dec. 28, 2008, when they were defeated at Minnesota, 20-19.
*A long streak ended for the Giants. They led at halftime, 13-10. They had won their previous 26 regular-season road games in which they owned the lead at the half. They had last lost as visitors after holding a halftime lead on Nov. 26, 2006 at Tennessee, where a 21-0 advantage devolved into a 24-21 loss.
*This was the second time this season the Giants lost a game in which they led at halftime. On Nov. 4, they owned a 14-10 advantage at home vs. Pittsburgh but lost, 24-20.
*That was also the only other game this season in which they led after three quarters and lost. They led the Steelers entering the final quarter, 20-10, but fell by four points. The Giants had won their last four regular-season road games in which they led after three quarters.
*The Giants' only second-half points came on a Lawrence Tynes field goal. It was the third time this season they did not score a second-half touchdown (also at Dallas on October 28 - in a game they won, 29-24 - and vs. Pittsburgh).
*The Giants had more total yards (390-370), held the ball longer (33:13-26:47) and converted nine of 15 third-down opportunities.
*The Giants' 390 total yards was their highest total since they gained 393 yards in a victory over Washington on October 21.
*Washington rushed for 207 yards for a two-game total of 455 yards on the ground vs. the Giants this season.
*The Giants entered the game committing an average of 4.4 penalties per game, the NFL's second-lowest figure. Against the Redskins, they had nine accepted penalties for 73 yards, their highest number of infractions since Oct. 10, 2010, when they had nine penalties in a victory in Houston.
*The Giants did not have a turnover for the second consecutive week. They twice had back-to-back no-turnover games in 2011: In the regular-season finale vs. Dallas and the postseason opener against Atlanta and in the NFC Championship Game at San Francisco and Super Bowl XLVI vs. New England. The last time they had no turnovers in consecutive regular-season games was at Dallas and Tampa Bay on Sept. 20 and 27, 2009.
*The Giants lost a game in which they did not have an offensive giveaway for the first time since that one-point loss to the Chargers on Nov. 8, 2009. They had won their last 10 regular-season games, plus three postseason games, in which they had no offensive turnovers.
*The Giants are 8-7-1 in FedEx Field.
*The Giants are 22-33-1 on Monday night, including 15-25-1 on the road.
*Robert Griffin III completed 13 of 21 passes for 163 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 72 yards. Giants coach Tom Coughlin is 11-7 vs. rookie quarterbacks in his 17-year career as an NFL head coach, including 5-3 with Eli Manning as his quarterback.
*Manning completed 20 of 33 passes for 280 yards, a touchdown and no interceptions. The touchdown pass was the 201st of his career, tying him with Roman Gabriel and Matt Hasselbeck for 31st on the NFL's career list.
*Ahmad Bradshaw rushed for 103 yards on 24 carries. It was the Giants' first 100-yard rushing game since Bradshaw ran for 116 yards at San Francisco on October 14. This was Bradshaw's 11th career regular-season 100-yard rushing game – and the first of the 11 the Giants lost.
*Bradshaw raised his career total to 4,054 yards. He is the sixth player in Giants history with at least 4,000 rushing yards, joining Tiki Barber, Rodney Hampton, Joe Morris, Brandon Jacobs and Alex Webster.
*Victor Cruz, Martellus Bennett and Hakeem Nicks led the Giants with five catches apiece. Cruz had 104 yards, the Giants' first 100-yard receiving game since Cruz gained 131 yards vs. the Redskins on October 21. The Giants are 27-22 in regular-season games in which they have at least one 100-yard receiver, including 5-6 when Cruz hits the century mark.
*Cruz's 11 100-yard games are one more than both Nicks and Plaxico Burress.
*This was the first time the Giants had a 100-yard rusher and 100-yard receiver in the same game since Dec. 11, 2011 at Dallas, when Jacobs ran for 101 yards and Nicks gained 163 yards on eight catches.
*Nicks' five catches increased his career total to 248 and moved him past Burress (244) and Aaron Thomas (247) and into 11th place on the Giants' career list.
*Bennett scored the Giants' only touchdown on a four-yard pass from Manning. It was Bennett's fourth touchdown of the season and first since September 30 at Carolina.
*Jerrell Jernigan caught his second pass of the season and first since October 7 vs. Cleveland.
*Rookie David Wilson returned four kickoffs for 83 yards. That increased his season totals to 44 returns for 1,094 yards, a 24.9-yard average. The 44 returns are the third-highest single-season total in Giants history (the record is 57 by Domenik Hixon in 2009). The yardage total leaves him 97 yards shy of Hixon's franchise-record total, set in the same season. Wilson is already 15th on the Giants' career kickoff yardage list.
*The Giants did not sack Griffin, the third time this season they did not record a sack (also vs. Cleveland and at Cincinnati).
*Washington rookie running back Alfred Morris rushed for 124 yards on 22 carries. In the first game against the Giants, he ran for 120 yards on 22 attempts. This is the second year in a row an opposing back had two 100-yard games against the Giants; Philadelphia's LeSean McCoy did in 2011.
*The Giants are 1-4 this season and 16-23 in regular-season games under Coughlin when an opposing back rushes for at least 100 yards.
*The Redskins' Pierre Garcon caught eight passes for 106 yards, the sixth Giants opponent with at least 100 receiving yards this season.
*Osi Umenyiora made his second start of the season at right defensive end for Jason Pierre-Paul, who missed practice time last week with a back issue. Umenyiora also started the victory at San Francisco on Oct. 14.
*Linebacker Keith Rivers started at strongside linebacker as Mathias Kiwanuka once again played on the defensive line. It was Rivers' first start since Week 8 at Dallas. He had four assisted tackles and a fumble recovery.
*Sean Locklear started at right tackle for David Diehl, who hurt his shoulder last week against Green Bay. It was Locklear's seventh start of the season and first since October 28 at Dallas, the last of six consecutive games he started. Locklear was carted off the field after suffering a serious knee injury in the fourth quarter.
*Josh Morgan scored the Redskins' first touchdown when he caught a Griffin fumble that popped into the air. It was the first time a Giants opponent scored a touchdown on a fumble return since Indianapolis' Fili Moala had a one-yard score on Sept. 19, 2010 – of course, that was a defensive touchdown.
*Washington coach Mike Shanahan was successful on a replay challenge just 17 seconds into the game. On the game's first series, the Redskins faced a third-and-10 when Griffin threw to the left side for Logan Paulson, who was ruled short, out of bounds at the 29, of the first down. Shanahan challenged the ruling, believing Paulson – who caught the ball on the Redskins' sideline – had advanced far enough for the first down. After review, referee Jerome Boger reversed the call, saying Paulson moved the ball to the 31 for an 11-yard gain. Giants opponents are 3-1 this season and 26-34 in Tom Coughlin's nine seasons as head coach on replay challenges.
*Safety Tyler Sash suffered a hamstring injury and did not return.
*The Giants' inactive players were wide receiver Domenik Hixon (ankle), tight end Travis Beckum (knee), linebacker Jacquian Williams (knee), defensive tackle Marvin Austin, tight end Adrian Robinson, defensive end Adewale Ojomo and running back Ryan Torain.
*The Giants' game captains were Chris Snee and Chase Blackburn, who joined Manning, Justin Tuck and Zak DeOssie for the coin toss.
