The Giants.com crew members discuss what they will be looking for when organized team activities (OTAs) begin this week.
John Schmeelk: This was an easy answer for me. It's the same thing I have been looking forward to since John Harbaugh announced his coaching staff. I want to know what this offense looks like. Does it look like what Matt Nagy did in Kansas City? Does it look like what Greg Roman did with Harbaugh in Baltimore? Is it the passing game of Nagy but the run game of Roman? How much will Brian Callahan and his roots appear as the team's passing game coordinator?
There are a few specific things I want to try to get a feel for. The first is personnel. How often do we see either two tight ends or formations with a fullback versus three wide receiver formations? Which tight ends are on the field in what personnel groups? How often do we get gigantic 22 personnel with a fullback and two tight ends and just one wide receiver? I have many questions.
Even more interesting to me is how often they play in shotgun versus under center. This is important to me because it will dictate what the play-action game looks like. Will it be more under center with run-action and the quarterback turning his back to the defense, or will it be more focused on RPOs and other shotgun play-action?
There are no pads or contact in OTAs, so it is hard to make any real judgments in terms of players, but we might get some hints as to what this Giants' offense may look like. I feel like we know what Dennard Wilson wants to do, but the offense remains a mystery. Soon, it will be a mystery no more.

Dan Salomone: Back at veteran minicamp during the week of the draft (which is a three-day bonus for teams with new head coaches), we got our first look at two-time Pro Bowl linebacker Tremaine Edmunds in the middle of the Giants' defense. The resume preceded him, but seeing his 6-foot-4, 251-pound frame in person makes you eager for more on Sundays.
Hours later, the Giants added a second one in Arvell Reese.
The 6-foot-4, 243-pound All-American from Ohio State will combine with the veteran to form one of the most promising inside linebacker duos in recent Giants history. While there is no contact in the spring, my eyes will be focused on those two and how they work together while flowing sideline to sideline.
Reese made it clear back at rookie minicamp that he wants to prove himself to the veterans and be seen but not heard. Sooner rather than later, he will be doing both alongside Edmunds.
"One thing I like about his game, he's a rangy linebacker," Reese said. "He can clear ground fast, sideline to sideline. He plays the game fast. He plays it how it's supposed to be played."
Matt Citak: The biggest change in Phase 3 of the Offseason Workout Program, other than the rookies being integrated with the veterans, is the beginning of offense vs. defense drills. That is when 7-on-7, 9-on-7 and 11-on-11 periods are permitted for the first time, although contact is still not allowed. This will be the first time we get to see Jaxson Dart face off against the team's defense in live drills this year, and the first time he gets to throw to the team's new pass-catchers.
The Giants have already said that wide receiver Malik Nabers will not be back on the field for OTAs as he continues his rehab from last year's ACL injury. While of course you would like your top target to get as many practice reps as possible with the starting quarterback, what this does is allow Dart to begin developing chemistry with the team's group of new pass-catchers. OTAs will be the first time Dart throws to veteran wide receivers Darnell Mooney and Calvin Austin, not to mention rookie wideout Malachi Fields, in a live setting. And let's not forget about tight end Isaiah Likely, either, as the veteran was brought in on the first day of free agency in order to give Dart another big and athletic target. Between Likely and Fields, both of whom could play big roles this season, the Giants added some size to their group of playmakers.
When healthy, Nabers is undoubtedly the most talented pass-catcher on the roster. But with the third-year receiver still working his way back, Dart will have an opportunity to start building rapport with the other pass-catchers, which will hopefully allow the offense to hit the ground running once Week 1 comes around. As we all know, Year 2 is a pivotal one in a quarterback's growth and development. OTAs will serve the official on-field start of Dart's second NFL season, and if he is able to make a jump, the Giants will be set up for success both in 2026 and beyond.
