Snap Counts: Week 3 usage & takeaways

ANDREW-THOMAS

The Giants took on the Chiefs at MetLife Stadium in Week 3, the first of consecutive home games against the AFC West. Big Blue will go up against the Chargers this coming week.

Here are snap counts from the Week 3 matchup.

Quarterback

  • Russell Wilson - 63 offensive snaps (95.5 percent)
  • Jaxson Dart - 3 offensive snaps (4.5 percent)

Wilson took nearly every snap for the Giants and finished 18 of 32 for 160 yards while adding 27 yards on five rush attempts. Dart saw his action for the second time in his young career, taking the field for three snaps, two of which he handed the ball off. The rookie registered one rush attempt for three yards.

Running Back

  • Cam Skattebo - 39 offensive snaps (59.1 percent)
  • Devin Singletary - 16 offensive snaps, 5 special teams snaps (24.2 percent, 23.8 percent)
  • Tyrone Tracy Jr. - 11 offensive snaps (16.7 percent)

Tracy started the game and was a focal point of the offense as he recorded seven rushes for 29 yards and two receptions (on three targets) for an additional seven yards, all in the first quarter. He then suffered a shoulder injury, which paved the way for Skattebo to take over the backfield. The rookie running back finished the night with a game-high 10 rushes for 60 yards (6.0 avg.) and a touchdown, and was also the Giants' leading receiver with six receptions for 61 yards. Singletary added 11 yards on four carries while also serving as the primary kick returner, where he had five returns for 134 yards (26.8 avg.).

Wide Receiver

  • Malik Nabers - 61 offensive snaps (92.4 percent)
  • Wan'Dale Robinson - 51 offensive snaps (77.3 percent)
  • Darius Slayton - 50 offensive snaps (75.8 percent)
  • Beaux Collins - 9 offensive snaps, 10 special teams snaps (13.6 percent, 47.6 percent)
  • Jalin Hyatt - 6 offensive snaps (9.1 percent)
  • Gunner Olszewski - 1 offensive snap, 9 special teams snaps (1.5 percent, 42.9 percent)

With the passing game struggling to get going, it was a relatively quiet night for the wideouts. Slayton led the group with four receptions for 30 yards, while Nabers led the receivers with seven targets, which he turned into two receptions for 13 yards, and Robinson caught one pass for 26 yards on four targets. Hyatt and Olszewski saw their first offensive snaps of the season, although neither was targeted in the passing game. Olszewski returned two punts for 17 yards (8.5 avg.).

Tight End

  • Theo Johnson - 57 offensive snaps (86.4 percent)
  • Daniel Bellinger - 16 offensive snaps, 9 special teams snaps (24.2 percent, 42.9 percent)
  • Chris Manhertz - 13 offensive snaps, 9 special teams snaps (19.7 percent, 42.9 percent)

The tight ends caught one pass apiece on Sunday night, with Johnson's catch going for 10 yards, Manhertz's for 7 yards, and Bellinger's for 6 yards.

Offensive Linemen

  • T Jermaine Eluemunor - 66 offensive snaps, 2 special teams snaps (100 percent, 9.5 percent)
  • G Jon Runyan - 66 offensive snaps, 1 special teams snap (100 percent, 4.8 percent)
  • G Greg Van Roten - 66 offensive snaps (100 percent)

  • C Austin Schlottmann - 2 special teams snaps (9.5 percent)
  • T James Hudson III - 2 special teams snaps (9.5 percent)
  • G Aaron Stinnie - 2 special teams snaps (9.5 percent)

Thomas made his 2025 debut in Week 3 as he took the field for 28 offensive snaps, 11 of which were pass blocking snaps, and did not allow a pressure. After the game, coach Brian Daboll and Thomas both informed the media that the plan going into the night was for the left tackle to play around 25 snaps. Rookie Marcus Mbow came in for Thomas and played the rest of the game. The other four starting offensive linemen all played 100 percent of the offensive snaps.

Defensive Linemen

  • Dexter Lawrence II - 47 defensive snaps (65.3 percent)
  • Roy Robertson-Harris - 35 defensive snaps, 6 special teams snaps (48.6 percent, 28.6 percent)
  • D.J. Davidson - 24 defensive snaps, 9 special teams snaps (33.3 percent, 42.9 percent)
  • Darius Alexander - 23 defensive snaps (31.9 percent)
  • Elijah Garcia - 11 defensive snaps, 7 special teams snaps (15.3 percent, 33.3 percent)

Lawrence registered two quarterback hits despite facing a team-high 12 double teams. Alexander saw his snaps increase from 15 last week to 23 in Week 3.

Linebackers

  • Bobby Okereke - 71 defensive snaps, 6 special teams snaps (98.6 percent, 28.6 percent)
  • Kayvon Thibodeaux - 65 defensive snaps, 6 special teams snaps (90.3 percent, 28.6 percent)

  • Swayze Bozeman - 12 defensive snaps, 19 special teams snaps (16.7 percent, 90.5 percent)
  • Neville Hewitt - 12 special teams snaps (57.1 percent)

Okereke played nearly every defensive snap and finished the game with a team-high eight total tackles. Thibodeaux, Burns, and Carter continued their strong starts to the season as the outside linebackers had three or more pressures each, with the trio combining for 11 total along with five of the team's seven quarterback hits. This led to Patrick Mahomes getting pressured on a season-high 29.3 percent of his drop-backs. Due to all of the injuries at inside linebacker, the Giants were forced to get creative with the spot next to Okereke in the middle of the defense, with Carter seeing some snaps there. Hewitt made his Giants debut after signing with the team earlier in the week, as the veteran played 12 special teams snaps.

Defensive Backs

  • Jevón Holland - 72 defensive snaps, 3 special teams snaps (100 percent, 14.3 percent)
  • Paulson Adebo - 72 defensive snaps (100 percent)
  • Tyler Nubin - 70 defensive snaps, 9 special teams snaps (97.2 percent, 42.9 percent)
  • Cor'Dale Flott - 62 defensive snaps (86.1 percent)
  • Dru Phillips - 54 defensive snaps (75.0 percent)
  • Dane Belton - 23 defensive snaps, 19 special teams snaps (31.9 percent, 90.5 percent)
  • Deonte Banks - 19 defensive snaps, 9 special teams snaps (26.4 percent, 42.9 percent)
  • Art Green - 19 special teams snaps (90.5 percent)
  • Beau Brade - 12 special teams snaps (57.1 percent)
  • Nic Jones - 8 special teams snaps (38.1 percent)

Holland and Adebo played every defensive snap as the veteran corner finished second on the team with seven tackles (six solo) and added a pass breakup, while Holland surrendered just one reception for 10 yards on 39 coverage snaps, according to Next Gen Stats. For the third consecutive week, Flott took a majority of the snaps at outside corner opposite Adebo while Banks was mixed in. Flott was credited with just two receptions allowed for 17 yards on 32 coverage snaps, while Nubin allowed only one reception for a loss of three yards on 38 coverage snaps.

Specialists

  • P Jamie Gillan - 7 special teams snaps (33.3 percent)
  • LS Casey Kreiter - 4 special teams snaps (19.0 percent)
  • K Graham Gano - 1 special teams snap (4.8 percent)

Gano suffered a groin injury during final warmups, which prevented him from taking the field other than kicking a short 25-yard field goal in the fourth quarter. Gillan attempted one extra point attempt in Gano's place, but the try was blocked. Gillan also took on kickoff duties for Gano.
