Peter Schrager, Bucky Brooks & Lance Zierlein release new mock drafts

The start of the 2026 NFL Draft is a mere one day away, which means mock draft season is at an all-time high.

We have a few new mocks to look at, so let's dive right in.

First up is ESPN's Peter Schrager, who released his second and final mock draft this morning. In his initial mock last week, prior to the trade that landed the Giants a second pick in the top 10, Schrager had the Giants going with Miami offensive lineman Francis Mauigoa.

This time around, he has the Giants selecting Ohio State edge rusher Arvell Reese at No. 5.

"I haven't seen many mock drafts having Reese slip this far, and maybe he won't," wrote Schrager. "But I also remember Leonard Williams inexplicably falling out of the top five in 2015. These things happen. Edge rusher is not one of the Giants' holes, but the roster needs good football players."

With the 10th overall pick acquired from the Bengals, Schrager has the Giants going with Arizona State wide receiver Jordyn Tyson.

"Going fifth might be too rich, considering Tyson's durability issues (missed 17 of 51 possible games in college)," the NFL analyst wrote."But taking him at the back end of the top 10 with the pick coming back from the Dexter Lawrence II trade is a better value. Tyson could join Malik Nabers, Isaiah Likely and crew to give Jaxson Dart some real options in the pass game."

Let's move on to NFL Media's Bucky Brooks, who had the Giants going with Ohio State linebacker Sonny Styles in his previous mock draft. In his final version released on Tuesday, Brooks had the Giants addressing the offense with both of their picks, starting with Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love at No. 5.

"Love will team with Cam Skattebo and Malik Nabers to give Jaxson Dart a stellar supporting cast that will help the second-year pro grow," Brooks stated. "In fact, this pick is only New York's first gift to the 22-year-old quarterback in this mock ..."

As he indicated in his analysis of the Love pick, Brooks has the Giants adding another playmaker at No. 10 with the selection of Tyson.

"Taking an oft-injured pass catcher is a risky proposition, but Tyson is a dominant lead receiver with big-play potential," he wrote. "If the Arizona State standout avoids the injury bug, the Giants will have a dynamic pairing on the perimeter with the acrobatic playmaker joining Malik Nabers to give New York co-WR1s."

The third and final mock draft we're going to take a look at this morning is from NFL.com's Lance Zierlein. In his previous mock draft, Zierlein projected Ohio State wide receiver Carnell Tate at No. 5.

In his final mock draft, he still has the Giants selecting someone from Ohio State at No. 5, but this time he goes with safety Caleb Downs.

"John Harbaugh values the safety position and is looking to create a strong culture in the building," Zierlein wrote. "Downs makes plenty of sense here for the Giants."

With the 10th pick, the draft analyst goes with an offensive lineman in the form of Miami's Francis Mauigoa.

"With their second top-10 pick, the Giants take the first offensive lineman," Zierlein wrote. "Mauigoa is a pedigreed prospect who should offer high-level guard/tackle flexibility."

NFL Media analyst Daniel Jeremiah released his ranking of the top 150 prospects in the 2026 NFL Draft.
