The New York Giants have traded defensive lineman Dexter Lawrence to the Cincinnati Bengals in exchange for their No. 10 overall pick in the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft.
The Giants, who had seven selections prior to the move, now own eight picks total heading into Round 1 on Thursday night.
It would mark the second consecutive year the Giants have used multiple selections in the first round after they took outside linebacker Abdul Carter No. 3 overall and then traded back into the first round to draft quarterback Jaxson Dart with the No. 25 pick.
It would also be the third time the Giants had two first-rounders in Joe Schoen's tenure as general manager. In his inaugural 2022 season, the Giants drafted outside linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux at No. 5 and offensive lineman Evan Neal at No. 7.

Lawrence, chosen 17th overall by the Giants in 2019, made three consecutive Pro Bowls in 2022, 2023, and 2024. The Clemson product was also named second-team All-Pro in 2022 and 2023.
Lawrence played in 109 regular-season games with 102 starts over the course of his seven seasons with the Giants. His career totals include 341 tackles, 103 quarterback hits, 40 tackles for loss, 30.5 sacks, 15 passes defensed, five forced fumbles, and an interception. He also started both postseason games in which he played for the Giants.
Lawrence led the team in sacks across two different seasons (9.0 sacks in 2024 and 7.5 sacks in 2022). His 103 quarterback hits are the third-most in franchise history since the statistic became official in 2006, trailing defensive ends Justin Tuck (140) and Jason Pierre-Paul (109).
