The New York Giants have made another trade.
On Saturday, the team finalized a deal to acquire defensive lineman C.J. Okoye from the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for their 2028 seventh-round pick.
It marks the third trade the Giants have completed over the last 11 days. Last week, offensive lineman Daniel Faalele was traded to the Jacksonville Jaguars for a 2027 sixth-round pick. A week later, offensive lineman Joshua Ezeudu was traded to the Kansas City Chiefs for a 2028 seventh-round pick.
Okoye will be reunited with head coach John Harbaugh, who he played for last season. The 6-foot-6, 365-pound lineman appeared in 13 games for the Baltimore Ravens in 2025 and totaled 15 tackles (seven solo), one tackle for loss, one quarterback hit and one pass defensed.
The 24-year-old entered the league with the Los Angeles Chargers in 2023 as part of the International Player Pathway Program (IPP). He spent two seasons on the Chargers' practice squad, the second of which he played under coach Harbaugh's brother, Jim, before signing a reserve/future contract with the Baltimore Ravens in January 2025.
Born in Agbogugu, Nigeria, Okoye grew up playing basketball before he was invited to Giants legend Osi Umenyiora's Uprise (Africa) football camp. He began to play football in the summer of 2022, and not long after, he was named the offensive MVP of the inaugural NFL Africa Camp that year while lining up along the offensive line. This led to him being invited to the NFL International Combine in London.
Okoye became the first player from the International Player Pathway Program out of Africa to appear in an NFL regular season game.
The IPP program identifies elite global talent with the aim of providing selected athletes the opportunity to improve and develop their skills in hopes of ultimately earning a spot on an NFL roster.
