Coach John Harbaugh sits down with Giants.com for a weekly conversation about the latest at 1925 Giants Drive.

Q: Like you said, the NFL is high-level drama. With everything that has transpired this week, are you just eager to get to Sunday and turn the page?

Harbaugh: The guys are excited about the game. It's an opportunity to get to 2-1, 1-0 for the week is the mantra. Circumstances are always what they are. So yeah, it's a tough circumstance with the quarterback. It's unique. We're not the only team that's ever faced that, not even the only team that's facing it this week in the National Football League, and we won't be the last team to face it. It's not something that's unknown to mankind. It's an adversity that's going to hopefully serve to make us a better football team and that's really the goal – to become the best football team we can be. But within that, play our best football game this week and we have a team that's really determined and really locked in to do that. Jaxson (Dart) is supporting that. He's been in meetings all week supporting the guys and supporting Jameis (Winston). So yeah, we're excited to play the game.

Q: There's a lot of crossover this week with the Titans. I was watching some press conferences from Tennessee and they're even watching some film of themselves from last year to get ready for Dennard Wilson's defense. But at this point in the season, is it still about yourself?

Harbaugh: It's always more about yourself, and it's definitely more about yourself than at any point in time in the season because you don't know that much about your opponent. It's all speculation. They offensively were different in game one to game two, almost dramatically different, totally different really in terms of what they did. So you've just got to keep in mind what they possibly can do and just try to be prepared for it, but really we've got to go out and play our game. I think that's true for all three phases.

Q: There's potential for bad weather in the forecast. Who's the meteorologist on staff tracking it?

Harbaugh: (College Scouting Coordinator) Ryan Hollern does that for us. He does a great job for us, so we get a report every day. And you mention it. Especially in the offensive meeting, you really think about it a lot because it's ball handling and we talked about that and then (Senior Offensive Assistant) Greg Roman especially was talking about it and so was (Offensive Coordinator) Matt Nagy. Then even Dennard talked about it in the sense of it could affect their game plan and what they're able to do. It's definitely (important), but it is what it is.

Q: Do you do anything with wet footballs?

Harbaugh: We've done that before. We're not doing it this week right now. We'll be fine. The other thing is we got a lot of camp rain practices, which is valuable.

Q: It could be another big game for Jevón Holland then. He's off to a hot start with taking the ball away. What have you seen from him on tape that has unlocked these plays from him?

Harbaugh: I think he's done just a good job of keeping it simple and playing the defense. He's a talented guy, he plays fast, he's got great instincts, but he has allowed the plays to come to him. That really is what works. When you start pressing and trying to make plays, especially in the secondary, that's when you get out of position and plays happen the other way. I think he's done a great job of that, been a great example for the other guys that way too.

Q: What is it about having those plays come from the safety position specifically?

Harbaugh: It's massive. I mean, that's how you stop the passing game and sure the pass rush is important, but you've got to cover people. When you're making plays on the ball, really that's the ultimate, that's what you shoot for.

Q: I did some research on Jordan Stout's (78-yard) punt last week. That's the longest you've ever had as a coach. The returner set up on your 48-yard-line and had to run back to the other 17.

Harbaugh: That's not enough with Jordan.

Q: What kind of weapon is he?

Harbaugh: I've watched him grow. He's a talented guy. He's a fourth-round pick as a punter. That's like a first-round pick for a normal position, and so that's how good he was coming out. But I've also seen the steady development, and you see how a guy grows. He was good his first year, but he was probably league average. I see steady growth, and I've seen another jump again this season. That's just a testament to his work ethic, his talent certainly, but his work ethic is off the charts.

Q: (Dominic) Zvada got his first field goal attempts, and he made both, including the 52-yarder. It was the third-longest ever by a Giants rookie. Is he made of the right stuff between the ears?

Harbaugh: Really happy with Dom. I think with Jordan, he's such a great leader for both the two rookies, especially as a kicker and the snapper between Dom and Ben Mann, to just see a trajectory in terms of what it takes to come in, get the job done your first year and do well but also to see where you can go. I was actually talking to Dom about that before practice today, that very thing in terms of his trajectory, but he's locked into it, works super hard. I do think that both Dom and Ben have great heads. They're not going to be intimidated. They're going to go out there and handle it, just everything, and then they're only going to improve because they work so hard.

Q: Who are the game captains this week?

Harbaugh: Jevón (Holland) on defense, (Patrick) Ricard on offense and (Zaire) Barnes on special teams.

Q: The team will be wearing an Ernie Accorsi patch for the rest of the season. Did you have any relationship with him?

Harbaugh: I didn't know Ernie other than the fact I've heard so many funny – incredible and funny – stories about Ernie. I know he's loved here. I know that. You know he's loved in Baltimore too amazingly because he was in Baltimore as well. I've kind of heard the Ernie Accorsi stories over the years. He's a legendary NFL figure. He's one of those guys that is in the history books, and his family should be very proud. I know he means a lot to the Giants.
