Inside the Numbers: Giants eye 4-0 home start

PATRICK-RICARD-JAMESON

Notes and stats to get you ready for the Week 6 matchup between the New York Giants (3-1-1) and New Orleans Saints (1-4) at MetLife Stadium.

0-0-1

John Harbaugh had been a head coach for 320 games, including postseason, before he experienced his first tie last week. Game No. 321 ended in a 27-27 draw with Washington, the third time a Giants game ended in a tie with them. That is tied with the Packers and Vikings for the most ties since the NFL added overtime in 1974.

3

For the eighth time since the 1970 merger (and first since 2008), the Giants have started the season 3-0 at home.

-6

The Saints have a minus-6 turnover differential, tied with the Colts for the lowest in the NFL.

10.46

Malik Nabers has been targeted an average of 10.46 times in 24 career games, the third-highest rate in the NFL since he entered the league in 2024 (minimum 20 games). Only Puka Nacua (10.57) and Ja'Marr Chase (10.47) have been targeted at a higher rate in that span.

With at least four catches on Sunday, Nabers can surpass Nacua (159 receptions) for the second-most receptions by a player in his first 25 career games in NFL history. Only Odell Beckham Jr. (176) has more.

17-17

The all-time series between the Giants and Saints is split 17-17. The Giants won the first matchup, 27-21, on Oct. 8, 1967 at Yankee Stadium.

27.4

The Giants have held their opponents to an average starting field position of 27.4 yards, the lowest in the NFL entering Sunday. The Saints are 30th at allowing an average starting field position of 36.3 yards.

29

Rookie linebacker Arvell Reese is second in the NFL with 29 solo tackles, trailing the Raiders' fifth-year pro Nakobe Dean by one heading into Week 6. Tremaine Edmunds is tied for third with 27.

33

Isaiah Likely has 33 receptions this season, the most ever by any tight end in his first five games with the Giants. Likely also has two games with multiple receiving touchdowns, already tied for the most all-time in a season by a Giants tight end (1962 Joe Walton).

50

Since at least 1983, Dominic Zvada became the only NFL rookie with four field goal attempts of 50+ yards in a single game – and just the second player overall to do it. The other time was Indianapolis' Matt Gay at Baltimore on Sept. 24, 2023. In total, Zvada made from 51 and 56 yards (which tied Ali Haji-Sheikh's 1983 record for the longest made field goal by a rookie in Giants history) last week and missed from 50, 57 and 46 yards. The 57-yard attempt went wide left with two seconds left in the first half. It would have tied the franchise record if it went through the uprights.

Zvada's 41 points are the most among NFL rookies in 2026 and the fourth-most by a Giant in his first five career games, trailing Bill Paschal (48 points in 1943), Jess Atkinson (47 points in 1985) and Eric Schubert (44 points in 1985).

81.3

The Saints have scored touchdowns on 13 of 16 trips to the red zone, good for 81.3 percent, the third-highest rate in the NFL entering Week 6. They trail only the 49ers (87.5) and Cowboys (83.3). New Orleans ranked last in 2025 at 44.4 percent.

125.5

Saints quarterback Tyler Shough has a passer rating of 125.5 inside the opponents' 20-yard line, the highest in the NFL since 1991 with a minimum of 40 pass attempts in the red zone. He has completed 73.2 percent of his passes there with 15 touchdowns to zero interceptions. Jaxson Dart is No. 10 on that list with a 101.9 passer rating. Phil Simms is No. 3 with 107.2.

300 + 3 + 25

Jameis Winston is the only Giant since 1950 who has recorded at least 300 passing yards, three touchdown passes and 25 rushing yards in the same game. His 54 pass attempts in Week 5 are the most in Giants history since 1960 without an interception.

5,000 x 2

The Giants will look to defend dual-threat running back Alvin Kamara, who is 11 receiving yards away from becoming the sixth player in NFL history with at least 5,000 career rushing yards and 5,000 career receiving yards. The current list includes Marcus Allen, Marshall Faulk, Christian McCaffrey, Lenny Moore, and Giants Ring of Honor inductee Tiki Barber.
