WR Jalin Hyatt signs rookie contract; 5th member of draft class to sign

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The Giants announced today they have signed wide receiver Jalin Hyatt, their third-round selection in the NFL Draft last month.

Hyatt, 6-0 and 185 pounds, was the 73rd overall pick in the draft.

One of the most explosive and dynamic playmakers in college football, Hyatt played in 35 games with 14 starts in three seasons at Tennessee. He finished his career with 108 receptions for 1,769 yards (16.4-yard avg.) and 19 touchdowns. Hyatt recorded five games with more than 100 yards receiving and five with multiple touchdown receptions. He holds the Tennessee records for single-game touchdown receptions (5 vs. Alabama on 10/15/22), single-game points scored (30 vs. Alabama on 10/15/22) and single-season receiving touchdowns (15 in 2022).

In 2022, Hyatt started all 12 regular-season games and became the first player in Tennessee history to win the Biletnikoff Award, presented annually to the most outstanding receiver in the FBS. He became Tennessee's 13th unanimous first-team All-American and the first since defensive back Eric Berry in 2009. Hyatt was the first wide receiver in program history to achieve that feat.

His totals last season included 67 receptions for 1,267 yards (18.9-yard avg.), 15 touchdowns, and 105.6 yards a game, all career-highs.

The Giants have also signed their fifth-round selection, Oklahoma running back Eric Gray, sixth-round choice, Old Dominion cornerback Tre Hawkins III, and seventh-round picks, Oregon defensive lineman Jordon Riley and Houston safety Gervarrius Owens.

The team's two unsigned draft choices are Deonte Banks, the cornerback from Maryland selected in the first round, and Minnesota center John Michael Schmitz, taken in the second round.
