The New York Giants reported for training camp on Monday, and while the first practice isn't until Tuesday, there was plenty of news coming from the Quest Diagnostics Training Center.

From Chris Snee's retirement to David Wilson being cleared to return to the field, here are five things you need to know from the first day of training camp.

1. Snee retired; Mara said Ring of Honor nod in the future. Guard Chris Snee, a decade-long cornerstone of a Giants franchise that won two Super Bowls with him as a starter, announced his retirement on Monday. With 152 regular-season and postseason starts, two Super Bowl rings, four Pro Bowls, and being named an offensive co-captain on his resume, Snee's legacy will live on. Giants president and chief executive officer John Mara spoke about Snee as a player and as a man, saying, "He was one of the greatest offensive linemen in Giants history, and he'll be on that Ring of Honor someday."

2. Wilson was cleared to practice fully. Running back David Wilson, who missed most of last season with a herniated disc in his neck, has been cleared for "everything," the third-year pro tweeted Monday morning. But while Wilson was able to participate in the conditioning drill, the Giants will bring him along slowly. That may be tough, though. "He wants to do everything now," Tom Coughlin said. "He's out there running back and forth like it's nobody's business."

3. Beason is the only Giant to start training camp on the PUP list. As expected, middle linebacker Jon Beason, who suffered a foot injury in spring football, was declared physically unable to perform by the medical staff. His goal is to be healthy enough for the season opener.

4. Beatty and Manningham participated in conditioning but will be "limited." Left tackle Will Beatty and wide receiver Mario Manningham aren't a full-go yet as they come off their respective injuries, but they took part in the annual conditioning drill on the first day of training camp.

5. Giants added another offensive lineman. The Giants on Monday signed guard John Sullen, who previously spent time with the Cincinnati Bengals after going undrafted out of Auburn in 2013. Sullen has yet to play in an NFL game since appearing in 50 games at Auburn, including the Tigers' BCS national championship in 2010.
