Giants sign DT Izaah Lunsford, waive Punter Taylor Symmank

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The Giants continued remaking their roster right up to the beginning of training camp today, when they signed defensive tackle Izaah Lunsford.

Lunsford, 6-3 and 310 pounds, spent the entire 2017 season on the Green Bay Packers' practice squad.

In a corresponding move, the Giants waived punter Taylor Symmank, whom they signed on June 5.

Lunsford signed with the Packers as a rookie free agent on May 5, 2017. He was released at the end of training camp and signed the following day to the practice squad. The Packers released Lunsford on Jan. 8.

In four seasons at Bowling Green, Lunsford played in 44 games with 14 starts and had 9 tackles (41 solo), 4.5 sacks, 12 tackles for loss, three passes defensed, one forced fumble, and a fumble recovery. He started all 12 games as a senior and had a career-high 48 tackles (21 solo).

Lunsford is a native of Cincinnati.
