The New York Giants have signed offensive lineman Brenden Jaimes.
Originally a fifth-round pick (No. 159 overall) in the 2021 NFL Draft, Jaimes has played in 50 games with three starts over the last five seasons.
The 6-foot-5, 300-pound lineman played his first four years with the Los Angeles Chargers. Upon hitting free agency, Jaimes signed with the Tennessee Titans during the 2025 offseason before being released as part of final roster cuts in late August. He then signed to the New England Patriots practice squad, where he spent most of the season.
A majority of Jaimes' NFL snaps have come at center, although the 27-year-old does have experience playing elsewhere on the offensive line.
During his four seasons at Nebraska, Jaimes played all of his games at tackle. He began his collegiate career on the right side, where he started the final nine games of his true freshman campaign at right tackle. His nine starts set a Nebraska record for the most by a true freshman offensive lineman.
The following year, he moved over to left tackle and made every start for the Cornhuskers, earning honorable-mention All-Big Ten honors. He once again started all 12 games at left tackle as a junior and was named Nebraska's Offensive MVP after helping the offense rank third in the Big Ten in rushing and fifth in total offense. He also earned honorable-mention All-Big Ten for the second straight year.
Jaimes' collegiate career wrapped up with another seven starts at left tackle in 2020. This extended his streak to 40 consecutive starts overall, which set a new Nebraska record for consecutive starts by an offensive lineman. His 40 career starts rank second all-time among all offensive lineman in Nebraska history. He earned honorable-mention All-Big Ten honors for the third straight year.
