Giants sign WR Austin Mack, waive Damion Ratley

AUSTIN-MACK

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The Giants today exchanged wide receivers on their roster, signing rookie Austin Mack off their practice squad and waiving Damion Ratley.

Mack, 6-2 and 215 pounds, was signed by the Giants as a rookie free agent on April 29. He was released at the end of training camp on Sept. 5 and signed to the practice squad the following day. Mack was added to the roster on Oct. 3, was inactive for the Giants' game in Los Angeles and then reverted to the practice squad.

Mack played in 45 games with 28 starts at Ohio State and recorded 79 catches for 1,050 yards and 6 touchdowns. As a senior in 2019, he played in 11 games and had career-high totals of 27 receptions for 361 yards and three touchdowns. Mack tallied a season-high six catches for 54 yards in the College Football Playoff semifinal vs. Clemson and posted a season-best 66 yards on three receptions, including one touchdown, vs. Nebraska.

Ratley was awarded off waivers to the Giants on Sept. 6, one day after he was released by the Cleveland Browns. He played in each of the Giants' first five games and totaled 63 yards on four receptions, the longest a 29-yarder against San Francisco.

On Sunday in Dallas, Ratley was targeted once but did not catch a pass. He was penalized for offensive pass interference, an infraction that nullified a 31-yard touchdown pass from Daniel Jones to Darius Slayton.

In two seasons with the Browns, Ratley played in 26 games with six starts and caught 25 passes for 344 yards and one touchdown.
