Giants trade OL Daniel Faalele to Jaguars for 2027 draft pick

DANIEL-FAALELE-TRADE-DETAILS

The New York Giants today traded veteran offensive lineman Daniel Faalele to the Jacksonville Jaguars in exchange for their sixth-round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft, pending a physical.

Faalele's tenure with the Giants lasted just over four months after they signed him as a free agent on April 9.

He was the third member from the Ravens' 2022 draft class – all taken in the fourth round – to sign with the Giants this offseason, joining All-Pro punter Jordan Stout and tight end Isaiah Likely.

Faalele started every game for John Harbaugh over the last two seasons at right guard. Overall, the 6-foot-8, 380-pound Faalele has appeared in 66 regular-season games with 35 starts, 34 of which have been at right guard. Faalele started one game as a rookie at left tackle. He has also appeared in five postseason games, including two starts at right guard.

Rookie Francis "Sisi" Mauigoa is slated to be the Giants' starting right guard. Jon Runyan, meanwhile, is in his third season with the Giants (seventh overall in the NFL) as their starting left guard.

The Giants drafted Mauigoa, the All-American from the University of Miami, after trading three-time Pro Bowl defensive lineman Dexter Lawrence to the Cincinnati Bengals in exchange for the No. 10 overall selection.

The Giants later traded away their 2027 fourth-round pick to the Cleveland Browns in a package that brought them a third-round choice this past April, which they used on wide receiver Malachi Fields.

The Giants also traded a conditional 2027 seventh-round selection and tight end Darren Waller last July to the Miami Dolphins for a 2026 sixth-round draft pick, leading to the selection of offensive lineman J.C. Davis.

The Faalele trade comes the day after the Giants signed Najee Harris, a former Pro Bowl running back with four 1,000-yard rushing seasons and released wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster.

The Giants host the Jaguars in Week 11 on Sunday, Nov. 22.
