The Giants wrapped up Day 3 of training camp Friday at The Greenbrier Resort in West Virginia.
For the first time this summer, the players were wearing shells under their jerseys. This is the second step in the ramp up to padded practices, which begin on Monday. The players will once again be in shells for tomorrow's session, which coincides with the NFL's "Back Together Weekend," before having their first off day on Sunday.
Here is everything you need to know from Friday's practice.

Takeaways
The play of the day occurred on the final snap of practice. In this period, the offense was attempting to drive down the field in order to set up a game-tying field goal with less than a minute on the clock.
After the offense picked up a first down on the first play of the series, second-year defensive lineman Darius Alexander made sure they did not get any further down the field. Alexander dropped back into coverage after the snap and was able to jump up and intercept the pass to end the drive. Following practice, head coach John Harbaugh praised the 25-year-old for the heads-up play.
"Probably a presence of mind kind of a play," Harbaugh said about the interception. "Probably felt the ball had to get out. That's a heck of a catch, very athletic play, game winner. The thing I probably liked about it the most, now that you mention it, was the fact that he caught it and got down right away. That's a game winner. He didn't put the ball at risk and then the defense wins the game. That's what you kind of want to try to do in that situation. "
Sauls comes up big (twice)
Earlier in the aforementioned final period, Ben Sauls was given an opportunity to show off his leg. After the second-team offense was able to drive down the field, thanks to two big throws from Jameis Winston, one to Theo Johnson and another to JuJu Smith-Schuster, the field goal unit lined up for a game-tying 48-yard field goal. With the final seconds ticking off the clock, Sauls drilled the kick through the uprights.
But that wasn't it from Sauls, who celebrated his 25th birthday today. The third-team offense then took the field and after a few completions, Sauls was sent back out to try a 59-yard field goal. He once again knocked it through with yards to spare.
"They've done well," Harbaugh said about Sauls and Dominic Zvada. "They've made a good number of kicks. I feel good about it."
Notable Plays
The offense lined up on their own side of the field for most of the day, which led to limited scoring opportunities. However, there was no shortage of notable plays.
Jaxson Dart hit his tight ends on numerous occasions Friday. It began with several passes to Isaiah Likely, including one on a scramble drill. Later in practice, Dart hit Theo Johnson in stride up the seam for a big gain.
"I think he's done a great job," Harbaugh said about Dart learning the new offense. "It's just one day at a time. There's so much. You can't even imagine how much there is for a quarterback to operate with, especially in a new offense. He's done an outstanding job. There's so much on his plate. He's pushing the envelope. He's also competing at the same time. He's a fiery guy. I'm impressed. I'm very impressed."
The biggest throw of the day came from the arm of Jameis Winston. The veteran quarterback unleashed a deep pass at least 40 yards down the sideline to Dalen Cambre, who was able to jump up and get possession of the ball before going out of bounds.
The defense came up with some strong plays on the ball throughout practice as well, including a couple of pass breakups from Korie Black and Ar'Darius Washington.
Arvell Reese showcased yet another part of his skillset during team drills. The rookie linebacker dropped into coverage and was able to get his hands on the ball to knock away a pass down the field, a play that caught the eye of his head coach.
"I think he looks really good," Harbaugh said of the rookie linebacker. "I thought he made a great play just off the top of my head today. The play, he was in zone coverage and he got that wingspan out there and batted that ball down. That was a great football play."
Harbaugh spoke on Thursday about Abdul Carter's strong start to training camp. The second-year outside linebacker was back at it again Friday with two would be sacks during team drills.
"We're just trying to stack days," Carter told the media Friday. "The whole defense, our whole message is just keep being consistent. Be consistent, be consistent. Day in, day out, just keep getting better."
Veteran Brian Burns, fresh off a career-high 16.5 sacks last season, would have had two sacks on Friday, as well.
