Practice No. 7 is in the books.
That means players have had seven opportunities to realize what a John Harbaugh training camp feels like.
"It's tough, gritty," said cornerback Greg Newsome II, who spent the first portion of his career as a Cleveland Brown playing against Harbaugh's Ravens in the AFC North. "We're going to work, and I like that. There's no off days for us in terms of not competing. He's going to make sure we compete. We're always doing situational football and things like that. So, it's been super fun to play. He's a great coach. We're always talking all the time and I'm super excited to play for him."
The man himself liked what he saw on Wednesday.
"Good practice, tough day," Harbaugh said. "Very happy with the way the guys got after it. Thought it was really competitive, just what we needed."
Here is everything you need to know from the day:

Touchdowns
The first score of the day was a 40-yard pass from Jaxson Dart to wide receiver Xavier Gipson during 1-on-1 drills. The second-year quarterback threw another touchdown in a team period near the goal line, where fullback Patrick Ricard sprung open for a walk-in touchdown on a well-designed play. Later in a separate goal line period, Dart found tight end Theo Johnson for a score.
There was plenty of action today in the low red zone, where running back Cam Skattebo had a touchdown run. Jameis Winston also threw three touchdowns, starting with a great catch by JuJu Smith-Schuster in the back of the end zone. Jalin Hyatt also got on the board, catching a pass that was deflected not once but twice before making its way into the wide receiver's hands in the end zone. Winston wrapped up the session with another score to Gipson.
Winston went on to throw three more touchdowns in a separate period to Gipson (again), Hyatt (again), and tight end Thomas Fidone II.
Takeaways
Safety Raheem Layne had an active sequence in the first 11-on-11 period. On back-to-back plays, he intercepted an overthrown pass and then forced a fumble on a run play that was recovered by cornerback Korie Black.
A few plays later, Elijah Campbell notched the third takeaway for the secondary with an interception. Cornerback Art Green made it four with a pick in the end zone to wrap up the day.
Odell can still light up a crowd
Odell Beckham Jr. stacked another productive day in his return to the Giants. The three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver made a handful of catches, including a big gain where Dart hit him in stride on the field closest to the fans.
"It's a lot of love," Beckham said. "We've had this conversation before. Most people don't get a chance to double back, and this is a place that made me into a man, made me into who I am. I have so much love for this organization, this city. I've got New York tatted on my back; you know what I mean? And I'm from New Orleans. So, all I ever wanted to do was win a championship for the New York Giants and just having an opportunity right now to – the end goal in mind, but stack those days, that's all I want to do for this city, this organization, is bring one home."
Cambre 'making a move' in WR room
While Beckham needs no introduction, training camp is a time for players like Dalen Cambre to etch their name into coaches' minds. The second-year wide receiver, who appeared in seven games last season and was on and off the practice squad, has certainly caught the attention of his head coach.
"I see him make a circus catch every single day," Harbaugh said. "And not just that, he's doing all the other things. He's doing special teams. He knows what he's doing. He's running great routes. I think he's making a move. I think he's done a great job and he's got our attention."
Best of the rest
Following up on his interception yesterday, safety Jason Pinnock was around the ball a lot again on Wednesday, including a pass breakup and forced a fumble in 7-on-7 work.
Campbell forced an incompletion on a long-developing route in 1-on-1 drills.
Signed just hours before practice, cornerback DJ James broke up a deep pass in one period and forced another incompletion in another. Campbell gave him a shoutout and yelled, "Make plays on Day 1, that's what you've got to do."
James was one of two cornerbacks signed on Wednesday, joining David Long. The Giants also waived/injured wide receiver Beaux Collins and placed defensive lineman Roy Robertson-Harris on injured reserve.
Rookie linebacker Jack Kelly, a sixth-round pick from BYU, made a nice play to string out a run to the outside.
Defensive lineman Darius Alexander batted a pass at the line of scrimmage, a growing theme for the defensive front at camp.
