Giants sign RB Mike Weber, DB Jordyn Peters

One week before their first training camp practice, the Giants signed a pair of free agents to the roster: running back Mike Weber and defensive back Jordyn Peters.

Weber, 5-10 and 211 pounds, was originally a seventh-round draft pick by the Cowboys in 2019, which was current Giants offensive coordinator Jason Garrett's final year as head coach in Dallas. Weber, who has not appeared in a game in the NFL, has also spent time with the Kansas City Chiefs and Green Bay Packers. An Ohio State product, Weber burst onto the college scene as the 2016 Big Ten Freshman of the Year.

Peters, 6-1 and 200 pounds, went undrafted out of Auburn and was signed by the New York Jets in May before being released earlier this month. He played safety for the Tigers throughout the past three seasons after lining up at nickel as a true freshman in 2017.
