Kicker Graham Gano returns to practice

GRAHAM-GANO-PRIMEPOINT

Kicker Graham Gano has been designated for return from injured reserve and will return to practice.

Gano suffered a groin injury in final warmups leading up to Sunday Night Football against the Chiefs in Week 3. The veteran has made all six of his field goal attempts this season, with a long of 55 yards in Week 1, and all four extra points.

Jude McAtamney, who kicked for Gano the past four weeks, was waived on Tuesday among a series of roster moves. The Giants also have veteran kicker Younghoe Koo on the practice squad.

McAtamney had attempted only two field goals in four games, both of which he made in Week 4 against the Chargers, with a long of 31 yards. However, he was unsuccessful on three of 12 extra point attempts, including two in Sunday's 33-32 loss to the Broncos.

Gano is third in the NFL among active players in points (1,420), trailing only Matt Prater (1,855) and Nick Folk (1,769).

Gano, who is in his sixth season with the Giants (16th overall in the NFL), is third in franchise history with 442 points. His 26 field goals of 50+ yards are the most in Giants history by a wide margin; the closest is Joe Danelo with nine.

The Giants (2-5) look for the season sweep of the Eagles (5-2) on Sunday in Philadelphia.
