Odell Beckham Jr., one of the most electric players ever to wear a Giants uniform, is back with the team that drafted him 12 years ago.

In just 59 games with the Giants from 2014-18, Beckham climbed to second in franchise history in receiving yards (5,476) and fourth in both receptions (390) and touchdown catches (44). His 92.8 receiving yards per game is the highest average by any Giants player with a minimum of 50 games played. The next closest is Homer Jones (1964-69) with 66.4.

In celebration of the Giants' 100th season, an independent committee ranked Beckham No. 37 on the franchise's all-time top 100 players list.

Beckham, the 12th overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, exploded onto the scene with one of the best rookie seasons in NFL history. He was voted the Associated Press Offensive Rookie of the Year, the first Giants player to be so honored in the history of the award. He was the franchise's first Rookie of the Year since Hall of Fame linebacker Lawrence Taylor won the defensive award in 1981.

Beckham did it despite missing time in training camp, the entire preseason, and the first four regular-season games with a hamstring injury. But he more than made up for his lost time in the final three months.

In 12 games, Beckham caught 91 passes for 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns, all franchise rookie records at the time. Beckham also set NFL records for most catches and yards in the first 12 games to start a career.

In addition, Beckham provided one of the most spectacular moments in NFL history with his now-famous leaping, one-handed touchdown catch against Dallas on November 23, 2014, which made him a national sensation.

Of the five best seasons in Giants history in terms of receiving yards, Beckham holds three of them:

  1. Victor Cruz (2011): 1,536
  2. Odell Beckham Jr. (2015): 1,450
  3. Odell Beckham Jr. (2016): 1,367
  4. Amani Toomer (2002): 1,343
  5. Odell Beckham Jr. (2014): 1,305

Beckham last played for the Giants on Dec. 2, 2018, a 30-27 overtime victory over the Bears at MetLife Stadium. The final catch he made was a one-yard touchdown from Eli Manning late in the third quarter. Manning played his final game a year later on the same field.

Beckham – in 13 games – finished 2018 with 1,000 yards for the fourth time in his five-year Giants career. The Giants did not have another 1,000-yard receiver until Malik Nabers, another first-round choice from LSU, recorded 1,204 yards as a rookie in 2024.

Beckham played with four other NFL teams in between stints with the Giants. He recorded his fifth and most recent 1,000-yard season with the Browns in 2019 but was released midway through the 2021 season. Beckham was picked up by the Los Angeles Rams and scored the first points in their Super Bowl LVI victory. The ring didn't come without a price, however, as Beckham suffered a torn ACL in the game.

Beckham moved onto Baltimore and then Miami, where he played his most recent NFL game on Dec. 8, 2024.

Overall, his career totals 575 receptions for 7,987 yards and 59 touchdowns. The 2013 winner of the Paul Hornung Award, which is given annually to college football's most versatile player, has also thrown two touchdowns and run for another score.

"The thing I love about Odell is right now he's in such a good place in terms of his humility," John Harbaugh, who coached Beckham for one season (2023) in Baltimore, said in April when the receiver worked out for the first time leading up to the draft. "He wants to be part of a team. He wants to contribute. He wants to help the young guys. That's what he's talking about doing. He still thinks he has some juice, and he looked good in the workout. You still got to be able to play. It's not going to be the old Odell. It's going to be a different version, the 2.0 Odell I guess you would say."

Beckham is five receptions and three touchdown catches away from a tie at No. 3 on the Giants' all-time lists in those respective categories, which are both held by running back Joe Morrison. Beckham would need five more touchdown catches to surpass Kyle Rote (48) and move into sole possession of second place in touchdown catches. Amani Toomer leads them all with 54.

Below is a look at the big three receiving categories in Giants history:
