Inside the Numbers: Giants vs. Raiders Preview

TYLER-NUBIN-JAMESON

Notes and stats to get you ready for the Week 17 matchup between the Giants and Raiders (all rankings are through Week 16):

0: RG Greg Van Roten, who played his first NFL game in 2012, has missed zero snaps this season. He is the only Giants player to do so on either side of the ball. LG Jon Runyan had played 100 percent of the snaps until missing last week's game due to the birth of his child.

3: OLB Abdul Carter is the second Giants rookie ever to record a sack in three consecutive games (Azeez Ojulari in 2021).

9: The Giants and Raiders enter Sunday with matching nine-game losing streaks and 2-13 overall records. According to NFL Research, this is the third game in NFL history between two teams at least 11 games under .500 (2-13 Buccaneers defeated 1-14 Colts in Week 17, 1991; 1-14 Colts defeated 2-13 Patriots in Week 16, 1981). The Giants are currently slotted for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft while the Raiders are currently in line for No. 2 (Giants have a worse strength of schedule entering Week 17).

20: Jaxson Dart leads all rookies with 20 offensive touchdowns. His seven rushing touchdowns are tied for fourth in NFL history among rookie quarterbacks. With two games remaining, Dart trails only Charlie Conerly (27 in 1948) and Daniel Jones (26 in 2019) for the most total touchdowns in Giants history by a rookie quarterback.

15.0: Brian Burns, who was voted to his third career Pro Bowl this week, has 15.0 sacks and 20 tackles for loss, both the most by a Giants player since Jason Pierre-Paul (16.5 sacks and 23 tackles for loss) in 2011.

15: Raiders QB Geno Smith has thrown 15 interceptions this season, tied with Miami's Tua Tagovailoa for most in the NFL. This will be the fourth consecutive season that Smith starts against the Giants. With the Seahawks, he won in 2022 and 2023 but lost last season's matchup.

48.7: Opponents convert 48.7 percent of third downs against the Raiders, the highest rate in the NFL.

50: Raiders RB Ashton Jeanty, the No. 6 overall draft pick, had a career-high 188 yards from scrimmage last week and became the fourth rookie in NFL history to have a 50-yard rush TD and 50-yard receiving TD in the same game (Clinton Portis, Jimmy Thomas, and Hall of Famer Gale Sayers).

69.5: Burns and Raiders DE Maxx Crosby are tied for fifth in the NFL with 69.5 sacks since they were drafted in 2019.

80: WR Wan'Dale Robinson is the third player in franchise history to catch 80+ passes in consecutive seasons, joining Odell Beckham Jr. (2014-16) and Victor Cruz (2011-12). He needs 99 receiving yards for his first career 1,000-yard season.

117: The Raiders' offense has accounted for a league-high 117 negative plays. Las Vegas is last in the NFL in average yards per game (248.9), scoring (14.5), and plays of 10+ yards (141 total).

176: The Raiders' Brock Bowers has 176 career receptions, most by a tight end in his first two seasons in NFL history.

188: Giants RB Tyrone Tracy Jr. needs 188 yards from scrimmage for back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons to start his career.
