Notes & Stats: Giants offense totals most yards since 2019

THE GAME:

  • The Giants took a 3-0 lead with a 38-yard field goal by K Graham Gano on the game's first possession. The drive spanned 16 plays and lasted 8:49.
  • The last time the Giants scored on a 16-play opening possession was vs. Dallas on 12/10/17, when they mounted a 17-play drive that ended in a field goal.
  • The Giants extended the lead to 6-0 after Gano connected on a 33-yard field goal.
  • The Cowboys scored their first points of the game midway through the second quarter on a 51-yard field goal by K Brandon Aubrey.
  • The Giants added to their lead on a 29-yard touchdown pass from QB Russell Wilson to WR Malik Nabers, giving the Giants a 13-3 advantage in the second quarter.
  • The Cowboys responded with a touchdown of their own on a 10-yard pass from QB Dak Prescott to WR KaVontae Turpin, giving Dallas a 13-10 lead.
  • Dallas opened the scoring in the second half and took its first lead of the game, 17-13, on a 30-yard rushing touchdown by RB Javonte Williams.

  • QB Russell Wilson finished 30-of-41 passing (73.2%) for 450 yards, 3 touchdowns, 1 interception and a quarterback rating of 123.0.
  • Wilson's 450 passing yards are the 2nd-most in his career and tied for the 4th-highest total in franchise history. Wilson tied QB Eli Manning's 450 passing yards at Dallas on 9/8/13.
  • Wilson became the second Giants quarterback to complete over 73% of his passes on 40+ attempts, joining Eli Manning, who did it six times and most recently on 9/30/18 vs. New Orleans.
  • In the first quarter, Wilson threw for 153 yards, the most by a Giants quarterback since 1978. It was also the most passing yards in a first quarter in Wilson's career.
  • Wilson finished the first half with 235 passing yards, the 4th-most in his career and the most by a Giant since Eli Manning had 236 in the first half at Philadelphia on 11/25/18.
  • The last quarterback to throw for 450+ yards, 3+ touchdowns and complete over 73% of passes was Joe Burrow vs. Atlanta on 10/23/2022.
  • WR Wan'Dale Robinson finished with 8 catches and a career-high 142 yards and 1 touchdown. On the opening possession of the game, Robinson caught a 50-yard pass, the longest reception of his career.
  • It was the longest reception by a Giant since WR Malik Nabers caught a 59-yard pass against Indianapolis on 12/29/24.

  • CB Dru Phillips recorded the Giants' first turnover of the season, intercepting QB Dak Prescott on the Cowboys' first possession of the second half. It was the second interception of Phillips' career.
  • Phillips finished with 11 tackles, 2 passes defensed, 1 interception and 1 tackle for loss.
