The Athletic's early All-Rookie Team

We are officially four weeks into the 2025 season.

There is still a ton of football left to be played, of course. But that didn't stop The Athletic's Dane Brugler from releasing his early picks for the 2025 All-Rookie Team, which featured several Giants.

No. 3 overall pick Abdul Carter was Brugler's selection at edge defender, which should not come as a surprise after Carter's strong start.

"Carter leads all rookies in pressures (19) and ranks top 10 in the NFL, just behind Browns star Myles Garrett (22) and Giants teammate Brian Burns (20)," wrote Brugler. "After seeing most of his snaps as an off-ball linebacker in Week 3, Carter moved back to edge defender against the Chargers on Sunday and responded with a career-best eight pressures as he terrorized Justin Herbert all game (five quarterback hits and four hurries). Dart wasn't the only Giants rookie to have a substantial impact in the upset victory."

Carter's eight pressures led the team, which totaled 20 on the day, as the Giants defense was able to pressure Herbert on 47.7 percent of his drop backs. He also totaled five quarterback hits against the Chargers and now has eight on the season, with at least one every week.

While he has only started one game so far, Jaxson Dart was still chosen as Brugler's runner-up at the quarterback position.

"Credit to Dart for giving the Giants a jolt of energy," Brugler wrote. "He was at his best in a win over the Chargers using his legs and did just enough as a passer to move the offense. He lived primarily underneath (10 of 13 completions came within 9 yards of the line of scrimmage) but avoided the killer mistake and played like he belonged."

The 22-year-old completed 13 of 20 passes (65.0 percent) for 111 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions. Dart also proved to be a threat on the ground as he finished with 10 rush attempts for 54 yards and an additional touchdown. He became the first quarterback since Patrick Mahomes to lead a touchdown drive of 80 or more yards on the first possession of their first start.

While Tennesse's Cam Ward was the choice at quarterback, Brugler noted that it was simply due to the Titans quarterback starting more games at this point of the season.

The third and final Giants rookie mentioned in Brugler's article is Cam Skattebo, who was listed as an honorable mention at the running back position behind Los Angeles' Omarion Hampton, Las Vegas' Ashton Jeanty, and Cleveland's Quinshon Judkins.

Skattebo has run the ball 48 times for 181 yards and two touchdowns this season while adding 12 receptions for an additional 98 yards.
