3:15 p.m. -- With a few injuries at their respective positions, the New York Giants signed running back Jonathan Ward and linebacker K.J. Cloyd.

The 6-foot, 202-pound Ward has played in 47 games in five NFL seasons for the Cardinals (2020-2022), Titans (2022-2023) and Steelers (2024). Ward, who also had a brief stint on the Jets' practice squad in 2022, appeared in four games last season with Pittsburgh, including Week 8 against the Giants with Russell Wilson under center for the Steelers. Ward played 59 snaps on special teams and 10 on offense in 2024. He was released on June 20, 2025.

Ward started his career on the Cardinals' practice squad as an undrafted rookie in 2020. His career numbers include 22 carries for 91 yards and six receptions for 52 yards and a touchdown.

This will be the second stint with the Giants for Cloyd. The 6-foot-2, 228-pound linebacker signed with the Giants last August and was released prior to the 53-man roster announcement. He joined the Broncos' practice squad later in the season and was released this past May. Undrafted out of Miami, Cloyd has not played in a regular-season game in the NFL.

In corresponding moves, running back Rushawn Baker was waived/injured and linebacker Ty Summers was placed on injured reserve.

9:30 a.m. -- Brian Daboll met with the media before practice No. 9 of training camp, where the head coach said running back Cam Skattebo is day to day and will be held out of today's session. Daboll said the rookie is working his way back but had a little bit of a setback Friday.

Daboll also said left tackle Andrew Thomas "feels a lot better, which is a good thing." The star tackle was placed on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list at the start of training camp, but has made "continuous strides" week to week. Daboll said Thomas will return to practice as soon as he can.

The standout tackle underwent surgery last season after suffering a foot injury against Cincinnati on Oct. 13 and did not participate in spring practices.

Monday, July 28

1:00 p.m. -- The Giants signed veteran wide receiver and special teamer Gunner Olszewski, who played 10 games for the team in 2023 and spent last season on injured reserve. He will take the roster spot of Bryce Ford-Wheaton, who suffered a torn Achilles during Sunday's training camp practice and was placed on injured reserve. In 2023, Olszewski was named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week in the second-to-last game for the Giants after his 94-yard punt return touchdown. It was the second longest punt return in Giants history and the longest in 95 years.

12:07 p.m. -- On the downfield collision with Wan'Dale Robinson the other day, Brian Burns said "it hurt" but it's "nothing too serious." Burns said he was trying to set the standard in running to the ball. He can't preach it if he doesn't do it himself. It's about "holding each other accountable." Robinson, meanwhile, was held back in Monday's practice. "Nothing serious," Daboll said. "Just got a knee to the leg, so we'll take care of him."

10:00 a.m. -- The Giants held their first padded practice of training camp at the Quest Diagnostics Training Center.

9:30 a.m. -- Coach Brian Daboll confirmed that wide receiver Bryce Ford-Wheaton, a core special teamer who played 14 games for the Giants last season, suffered a torn Achilles during Sunday's training camp practice. It is the second serious injury in three seasons for Ford-Wheaton, who tore his ACL in the final preseason game of 2023 as an undrafted rookie out of West Virginia. The 6-foot-3, 220-pounder rehabbed all the way back to making the 53-man roster last season and played 286 snaps on special teams, the most of any player on offense and third-most on the entire roster.

"Man, my heart aches for that man," Daboll said. "He's done everything he could do to get back. He's a very good special teams player for us and was having a good camp from working back from his injury. He's just laying there on the ground and you just can't help but... That's the tough part of this business – probably one of the worst (parts) is seeing these guys go down that have put so much time and effort and energy into getting back and we'll certainly miss him. It's just an unfortunate thing for Bryce, I feel terrible for him, I feel bad for our team because he was a good player for us in the kicking game and now other people are going to have to step up but, man, that was a tough one."

Friday, July 25

12:24 p.m. -- Tight end Theo Johnson felt he was just hitting his stride as a rookie before suffering a foot injury last season. He said today there are "no worries on my end. I'm back full go. No restrictions or limitations."

12:00 p.m. -- Former offensive lineman Justin Pugh, who started 131 games across 11 NFL seasons with two teams, officially retired Friday as a New York Giant. The 19th overall draft pick by the Giants in 2013, Pugh announced the news in a press conference following Friday's training camp practice.

10:00 a.m. -- Practice No. 3 is underway at the Quest Diagnostics Training Center.

9:30 a.m. -- Speaking to the media before practice, coach Brian Daboll said wide receiver Jalin Hyatt cramped up yesterday and is "a little tight" in the lower body. They will hold him back today. Players are off tomorrow. Daboll also that, with high temperatures in the area, they will have a break in the middle of Friday's practice.

10:00 a.m. -- The Giants held practice No. 2 at the Quest Diagnostics Training Center.

Wednesday, July 23

12:08 p.m. -- Wednesday wasn't the first time Malik Nabers caught a pass from Russell Wilson, but it did mark their debut together in a live practice. Nabers, who was recently voted No. 67 by his peers in the NFL Top 100 Players of 2025, missed spring practices while the Giants played it smart with his lingering toe issue. But he was good to go come training camp.

"I got a good few throws from Russ, got a few throws from [Jaxson] Dart, so it was good seeing those guys out there competing," Nabers said after practice. "It's the first day at camp, so everybody's jittery to get out here. It was a good day."

Nabers was asked if he will have to manage throughout camp. "I'm sure it will be something that I've got to take up with Dabs [Coach Brian Daboll] and the guys upstairs and training staff, but I think we've got a great plan going on day by day. That's probably it."

11:53 a.m. -- Defensive lineman Dexter Lawrence, who didn't do much in the spring as he came back from an elbow injury, said he "felt solid" getting some reps on Day 1 of camp. The toughest part about the rehab process? "Showering," he joked. The three-time Pro Bowler also said he challenged the defense before camp began and "didn't hold back." Everyone is talking about the D-line, "but we haven't done anything yet."

10 a.m. -- The New York Giants opened 2025 training camp at the Quest Diagnostics Training Center.

9:30 a.m. -- Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll, who are entering their fourth season as general manager and head coach, held their annual pre-camp press conference in the fieldhouse before practice No. 1. Schoen said left tackle Andrew Thomas, who was placed on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list to start camp, "should be ready for the opener" on Sept. 7 at Washington. "Again, things change," he added. "You can never be one hundred percent, but we're going to take it day by day with him. When he is ready, he'll be out there, but we anticipate him to be ready for the opener."

The Giants said over the offseason that they would be "smart" with Thomas, who did not participate on the field in spring practices. Thomas underwent surgery last season after suffering a foot injury against Cincinnati on Oct. 13.

Meanwhile, running back Cam Skattebo and defensive lineman Darius Alexander, two members of the 2025 draft class, are full-go after missing time in the spring.

Tuesday, July 22

After the rookies reported a week ago, veterans returned to the Quest Diagnostics Training Center for the start of training camp. Practice No. 1 begins at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, when general manager Joe Schoen and coach Brian Daboll are set to check in with the media.

5:10 p.m. -- The New York Giants made a series of roster moves on Tuesday.

Declared Physically Unable to Perform

  • OT Andrew Thomas
  • RB Eric Gray

Declared Non-Football Injury

  • OLB Victor Dimukeje

Waived/Injured

  • S Anthony Johnson Jr.

Free Agent Signing

  • S K'Von Wallace

The Giants said over the offseason that they would be "smart" with Thomas, who did not participate on the field in spring practices. The standout left tackle underwent surgery last season after suffering a foot injury against Cincinnati on Oct. 13. Joining him on the PUP list is Gray, who has a knee injury. The former fifth-round draft choice enters his third season after playing all 17 games for the Giants in 2024. He split his snaps almost evenly between offense and special teams, where he returned kickoffs. Dimukeje, who played his first four seasons with the Cardinals before signing with the Giants in free agency, suffered a pectoral injury and was placed on the NFI list. Johnson, meanwhile, was waived with a shoulder injury.

1:03 p.m. -- The Giants signed veteran safety K'Von Wallace, who was with the team on a tryout basis during minicamp in mid-June. The 5-foot-11, 205-pounder was originally selected by the Eagles in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He played in 45 of his 71 career games with Philadelphia, including all 17 (plus all three postseason games) during the Eagles' run to Super Bowl LVII in 2022.

Wallace was released prior to the 2023 season. He then spent time with Arizona and Tennessee before moving to Seattle, where he most recently played nine games last season. Overall, his career numbers include 147 total tackles, eight passes defensed, one interception, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery. Wallace has made 19 career starts, including a career-high 12 in 2023, when he played seven games with the Cardinals and then 10 with the Titans.

Prior to the NFL, Wallace finished his Clemson career tied for the most games played (59) in program history when he graduated. He was a key contributor on two teams that made it to the CFP National Championship Game, one of which the Tigers won. Wallace was a two-time All-ACC selection and team captain, finishing with 178 tackles, 21 passes defensed, five interceptions returned for 180 yards (including one for a touchdown), two sacks and two forced fumbles.
