The NFC and AFC East counterparts began with 7-on-7 drills in the red zone, where Russell Wilson threw his first touchdown pass to wide receiver Beaux Collins in the back left corner of the end zone. The undrafted rookie had missed some practice time recently.
"Coming back, we'd like him to be able to be out there, like for all the players but we eased him back in," Daboll said before practice. "He's smart, made a couple plays, ran some good routes. We'll kind of build him up as we go here but again, for these young guys or these guys that are competing for roster spots, availability is important because your time's running out. It's getting closer and closer to decision making, it's getting closer and closer to the season, so all these guys that are not out there are doing everything they can to be back out there, and Beaux was one of them. It's good get him back out there and keep growing him."
To round out 7-on-7 work, rookie Jaxson Dart connected with wide receiver Lil-Jordan Humphrey for a touchdown, just like they did in the preseason opener and have done throughout camp.
"Me and him have been, if you've been following along, me and him have been connecting a lot during camp," Dart said after Saturday's game in Buffalo. "And he's been a great contested catcher on go balls."
Moving to 11-on-11 drills, Wilson showed off his arm velocity on a throw to tight end Greg Dulcich up the right numbers for a touchdown. Then Wilson showed that he still has the speed with his legs and found the end zone on the ground from just inside the red zone. He then threw a short touchdown to wide receiver Gunner Olszewski as the Giants practiced without Malik Nabers for the second consecutive practice.
Dart, who also ran in for a score, threw a touchdown to Collins for his second of the day.
Running back Jonathan Ward, signed on Aug. 4, had a rushing touchdown during team drills in the red zone.

Wide receiver Wan'Dale Robinson had multiple, toe-tapping catches from Wilson on the sideline.
Running back Tyrone Tracy Jr., a converted wide receiver, showed his hands and made a nice catch during 7-on-7 drills.
On the other field with split squads, safety Jevón Holland got enough of a ball to prevent a touchdown in the back of the end zone.
Rookie cornerback Korie Black, the seventh and final member of the Giants' draft class, broke up a pass late in 7-on-7 drills.
Defensive lineman Rakeem Nuñez-Roches kicked off team drills with a run stuff, drawing a roar on the field nearest to the fans.
Jameis Winston connected with undrafted rookie wide receiver Dalen Cambre for a long completion down the right sideline.
Defensive lineman Chauncey Golston had a sack and a separate tackle for loss during one of the 11-on-11 periods. Outside linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux and defensive lineman D.J. Davidson each notched a would-be TFL.
Also recording would-be sacks throughout the day were rookie defensive lineman Darius Alexander and outside linebacker Brian Burns.
Linebacker Darius Muasau popped the pads on a big hit to thwart a run play.
Offensive lineman Greg Van Roten delivered a pancake that led to some extracurriculars from both sides. This came fours days after the Giants threw the ball 51 times in their preseason victory and did not allow a sack.
"I sent a message to them after the game that I've never played in a pocket like this," Dart said about the offensive linemen. "So, I thought that they've been able to compete at such a high level. I think it's really unique just how close that they are, really from wherever they are on the depth chart. They're all together, they're all communicating, and it's been really cool to see. As a quarterback, when you're able to play behind that, it makes your job a lot easier. I thought that they've done a great job, and I know that they're going to continue to work and progress themselves as well."
Joint practices ended with a two-minute drill. The situation was 1:06 remaining, game tied, and the offense starting on its own 32. For the Giants, Wilson completed four short passes and then scrambled twice, setting up an unsuccessful 61-yard field goal attempt by Jude McAtamney.
Then it was the Jets' turn with the exact same situation. The defense did its job, stopping Justin Fields and company from getting into field goal range. The drive stalled thanks to back-to-back forced incompletions by cornerback Paulson Adebo on opposite sidelines.
