The Giants hit the practice field for their second training camp practice at the Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. The weather was again perfect with temperatures in the mid to upper 70s under sunny skies.
* Fans were allowed to attend practice for the first time, with a number of Giants fans making their way to West Virginia. It added an energy and enthusiasm that the players fed off of.
* The team worked on punts during the special teams portion of practice with Calvin Austin III, Braxton Berrios and Xavier Gipson all fielding the kicks.
* In the situational period, the team worked on completing a pass and getting to the ground to allow the offense to spike the ball or call a timeout before time expired. Kayvon Thibodeaux disrupted one attempt, deflecting the ball at the line of scrimmage and intercepting it. He brought it the other way for a potential score. It was the second day Thibodeaux got his hands on the ball, and the first takeaway for the Giants defense in West Virginia.
* Two other Giants players were active off the edge. Abdul Carter was in the backfield multiple times, including a couple that would have been sacks of Jaxson Dart. On one play, Carter ran past Dart right before the quarterback completed a deep crosser to Darnell Mooney. Carter also came free on the final play of two minute for the offense, forcing a whistle to be blown as Dart unloaded a deep throw to Devin Singletary down the sideline. Jevon Holland knocked the pass away.
* A couple plays prior to that, Brian Burns would have had a sack after good coverage forced Dart to hold the ball. In that same sequence, Tremaine Edmunds played coverage on a pass over the middle, and it looked like he got a piece of the throw, forcing an incomplete pass to the tight end.

* Chauncey Golston also found himself in the middle of the action often. He had a potential tackle for loss on a Dante Miller run. The play prior to that he got into the backfield and forced Jameis Winston to scramble to his right. He also knocked down a pass in the flat later in practice.
* There was some good run defense during the first team period as the offense worked on early downs. Greg Newsome II and Burns both did well to force a run back inside from the edge. Leki Fotu burst through the line of scrimmage for a potential tackle for loss. Micah McFadden tracked down Devin Singletary on an outside run near the line of scrimmage. The age-old line is that the defense is always ahead of the offense early in camp. It isn't always true, especially since the offense made plenty of plays on Wednesday, but the defense did make a lot of splash plays today.
* In 7-on-7, Newsome and Deonte Banks deflected passes away. Jarrick Bernard-Converse knocked away a contested ball near the sideline, and Korie Black deflected a pass to end the period. Jaxson Dart's connection with Isaiah Likely over the middle during 7-on-7 might have been the highlight of practice, with Likely reaching out with one hand and plucking the ball out of the air for the reception.
* In the second team period, the defense did a good job blowing up a screen pass and forcing a throwaway. Abdul Carter got a pressure around the edge, forcing Dart to step up in the pocket into DJ Reader, who would have had the sack. Bernard-Converse and Black played good coverage on a deep pass down the middle of the field to force an incompletion . Cam Skattebo and Tyrone Tracy Jr. each had a pair of shifty cutbacks that could have turned into long runs. Bobby Jamison-Travis had a run stop at the line of scrimmage and defensive back Bernard-Converse blitzed for a potential sack.
* Practice ended with a two-minute drill for all three units. With 1:28 remaining in the game, the ball was placed on the offense's 29-yard line with no timeouts and down by two points. The defense made big plays to stop the first and second team offenses, but Brandon Allen completed passes to Eric Gray, Tanner Conner and Isaiah Hodgins to set up a spike with only a second remaining. Dominic Zvada came on to make a 57-yard field goal to give the win to the third-team offense.
