Biography

Originally signed as a rookie free agent by the Giants on May 10, 2018…Played in 49 games with 36 starts at Penn State and finished with 139 tackles (89 solo), 5 interceptions, 23 passes defensed, 2.0 sacks and 6.5 tackles for loss…Elected a team captain as a senior in 2017...Was named honorable mention All-Big Ten by the media and coaches and was a semi-finalist for the Jim Thorpe Award…Started all 13 games at slot cornerback and finished the season with 40 tackles (27 solo), 2.0 sacks and 2 interceptions…As a junior in 2016, played in 12 games with 11 starts and registered 39 tackles (23 solo)…Became the first player in school history to return a blocked field goal for a touchdown after he returned one 60 yards for a score vs. Ohio State (10/22)…As a sophomore in 2015, started all 11 games in which he played in and earned honorable mention All-Big Ten by the media…Finished the season with 42 tackles (26 solo), 2 interceptions and 1 forced fumble…As a true freshman in 2014, set the school’s single-season record for kickoff returns (32), while finishing 2nd in single-season return yards with 659…Also played on defense and finished the season with 18 tackles (12 solo) and 1 interception that he returned for a touchdown…Played at the Lovett School in Atlanta, Ga., where he was a 2-year captain and earned the AP Georgia Class 2A Offensive Player of the Year Award…Two-time academic all-Big Ten honoree, and a member of the school’s Athletic Director’s Leadership Institute…Completed his degree in advertising and public relations in 3½ years…Father, Leon Haley Jr., is dean of the University of Florida College of Medicine - Jacksonville.
